McTherapy for McIdiots...

his show is excellent first/fast intervention for people looking for answers, but don't know it. it looks like the new show format brings dr. phil to the streets so that folks will feel "one" with him. up to last season, his shows were getting to be more sensational than
helpful. there was an "event", not much intervention, then a quick fix ending. the shows that are more than one part are helpful because they show process. Dr. phil is too good to waste on show-ism. He is a
tremendous resource. don't make him broadway.

I'm not much of Dr. Phil fan myself.  I think he gives decent advice and his shows, when I've actually watched them are interesting.  But the thing that bothered me is how this guy can talk about weight loss when he himself is fat!  Let me say that again, YOU'RE FAT DR. PHIL!  What's next... George Bush reading a book?!?

So called"doctor" Philis probably a porn addict, hits his kids and back hands his wife for looking at store mannequins, at home alone he masturbates over Oprah. A pathetic excuse for a human, that makes money for the suffering and injustices of the human race. He hasnt helped anyone but himself and filled women's head with crap worldwide.

He's an obnoxious know it all, trying to look like an ideal husband - who is he to judge people

What the hell??? I've tried watching this show and have to say it's a witch hunt! And who the hell are these guests? Is he competing with Jerry Springer? Is this a prize show or a theraputic train wreck?

I find it so hard to believe that people can follow such a quack as Phil McGraw.

The show isn't the same any more. It's too much of what's going to happen "Next" and all the pre views of what is going to happen "Next". They took a great show and there turning it into a circus. It's also taking too much time away from the show. Many of my friends feel the same way. I hope Dr Phil changes things back to the way it was were before. It's awful now.

  It's amazing just how far a guy can get in this country with a junior college BS degree in pop psychology, a suitcase full of phrases and tag-lines from 1970-1980s self-help books, and a cult of personality following. I haven't listened to this guy finish EVEN ONE SENTENCE since I heard him finish the first one. If Dr. Phil had an old big-top tent and PA system, he'd be a red-state, snake-handling, speaking in tongues tent revival preacher. When you are a weed, you tend to grow where you're planted.

Some BS is just too blatant for long term consumption, life is just too short to suffer the kinds of fools who GET PAID to get on your nerves and shrink your mind. Has anyone checked to make sure that this isn't just Dr. Laura in disguise?

even though he can seem a little arrogant and a know it all sometimes he hits some real issues and seems to be truly concerned with helping those that want help

Dr Phil Show is a really great show, I saw it live and meet him. His staff are really nice and fun to be around. Dr Phil is very nice and I feel he tells it like it is. You may not alway agree with him but I like him and his show. It is lots of fun to be at his show. Bindy1012

I know there's a lot of people who would disagree but I think he is for real. The fact is, even if I'm mistaken about that part of the show, at least I can say that I learned about things from his show that no others touched on.

I love Dr. Phil. I think he inspires people and give them knowlege on how to deal with issues. I noticed mostly men don't care for Dr. Phil because men usually don't want to talk about their issues. That's why most men are screwed up. I think if more men would listen to Dr. Phil, maybe they could learn a few things!

I was totally disgusted by 'Dr" Phil's approach on yesterday's show about homosexuality. There was this lady guest who admitted to all America that she was homophobic and to add insult to injury she was scared that her 4 year old who loved to play with dolls and wear mummy's clothes would somehow turn out gay! What a load of rubbish! It is obvious to people with a minimum quota of God given intelligence, the the mother was the problem not the innocent child. Her attitude smacked of sheer intolerance and unmitigated stupidity! Instead of educating viewers, 'Dr' Phil suggested that mommy, who, by the way, is about to separate from daddy, give 'gender free' toys to her 4 year old.........and......if his propensity to play with girls' toys persisted, then couselling was suggested. "Dr' Phil, since when do boys who comb dolls' hair turn out queer? And if they did, what's the big deal? Frankly, mum looked very plain on your show. She needs a good hairstylist. Who knows? Maybe this is Divine Justice!"

I think that his show is the greatest!!! I watch it every night and have done so from day one. I feel that I learn a lot from them. I wish that my husband of 49 years would learn something too. I make him watch if he is at home. Great Shows!! Keep them coming.

Thank you, thank you for your show with Beth Hollaway Twitty. Since hurricane Katrina I have been unable to get up to date info on Natalie. Beth has to be one of the most , controlled and loving mothers in the world. I do not know how she is able to contian her emotions. It is a true show of Motherly love!!! I am a mother of 2 daughters and also a grandmother. Something positive must come from this. Beth needs to know where her daughter is and the USA should know how dangerous it is to travel in Aruba. Maybe we could have an universal rating system on foreign countries. For example, takes good care of tourist to very unsafe for US citizens especially women. Maybe countries that surrive on American dollars would try to get an excellent rating on vacation safety!!!! I can sleep better tonight because of your show today. I think Dr. Phil should be rated the number one talk show. I just love him and his wife He gets right to the point. He is very passionate. He put's his all and all into trying to help anyone that needs help. I hope that he stays on tv for a very long time. My goal is to one day be able to afford to sit in on one of his shows.. For all the people doubting Dr. Phil, they would have had to watch his show to make a comment. Why did you watch, something sparked your attention to make you sit there, if you did not like him , you would not have set there in the first place. If his money is an issue, he has more than you do, he must be doing something right.

Sorry to those sorry arrogant morons who cannot deal with the truth! Yeah! Most people do not want to hear the truth and that is essentially the basis of the Dr. Phil Show! He is just telling people what they need to know, but don't want to hear. So those of you who placed him at a less than average rating, you cannot deal with the truth. Running from your problems only makes them worse! So, all in all, I think Dr. Phil or his management/crew is finally bringing what America needs to the surface and I think that is what we need.

Dr.Phil is a great guy. He is very straight forward and truthful.There has been times where Dr.Phil could have gad families in trouble with the Childrens Aid Society and or police but as he said I am here to help them not jeopardize them because if I did do that I wouldn't have a show. Dr. Phil is awesome along with his wife.

Good guy, he really helps people. The only thing that I do not like is he is anti-spanking. The bible says spare the rod spoil the child. The reason there are so many physco people out there is because they were not diciplined right.

Dr. Phil is all about making money and uses a Oprah technique of emotional baggage to get sponsors get a reality TV show and make his life better by having more money.

Dr. Phil helps people, which is a very good thing. However, the shows are very depressing. Day after day it is sadness and depressing situations. Hopefully the good outweighs the sad.

Dr. Phil is nothing more than an actor. He isnt a genius inventing a satirical way to help people and entertain the folks at home at the same time. He is an employee of NBC who has an entire production staff that is responsible for each and every show. Phil comes in each morning and is handed his agenda, a script of sorts, on what he'll be doing and how to conduct himself with it. From there its mostly improv on his part with interjections from the directing staff on where they want the show to go during that episode. Im not saying the man is dumb or has no education, im just saying he isnt practicing psychology by any means, nor really trying to help people that much. The show exists for one reasn people, so listen up and listen good. ***COMMERCIALS!!!*** If the advertisers who try to sell you their swiffer mops, diet pepsi, and chevy trucks dont think anybody is watching, they stop paying NBC to air them. NBC doesnt get their money, they pull the show. So Dr.Phil is really all about getting people to sit through 20 minutes of commercials, and if that means sacrificing important issues or breakthroughs for the patient, so beit.

I just want everyone know that I love the Dr. Phil Show!!!In my opinion, I feel that Dr. Phil earned everything he has today. Whether he had a boost of recognition from the Oprah's Show or not... Dr. phil would have made it big ANYWAYS!!!!! His show has helped me in some ways (and I didn't have to spend any $) and other ways his show has not helped, but who cares! Its either love him or hate him-which means people don't GET him: Dr. Phil EXISTS because of this gulf--if not him, it'd be someone else. Here's the point: Dr. Phil has people on who SHOULD have a clue but don't (unlike Jerry Springer et al who have STUPID people who can't help themselves). Dr. Phil then rips these people 'cause they've got it coming to them. Further, his smug egotistical attitude and snide comments are the whole GENIUS of him! This is very subtle dry humor here folks.It is nearly satire. The point of Dr. Phil is ENTERTAINMENT!!! Not psychology! I think the man is genius at what he is doing (which is NOT psychology). He is, in and of himself, a parody. He knows it too....think about it--watch this show with a different mindset and you'll see what I'm saying. He's also quite sexy!

No one can match his wisdom and his indepth analysis. He is the ultimate champion and I salute him.

This is creative TV, something that is rare these days. Phil evokes a lot of passionate reaction and that is a good sign. I am perturbed that he is talking so much about weight and body image. Since he is a male, he has not experienced what culture does to women first hand, i.e. middle school bullying, bombardment of ideal female images, etc. He doesn't talk to blacks about African American issues without a member of that group, why does he tell the women to diet? Ugh. If he was a woman he would be considered fat, and probably wouldn't have a show. I don't think he gets how he comes across. Geez.

OKAY OKAY, so he is sexy in a way, but BORING SHOW,,,,occasionally entertaining...Give him another year or so...lol....

Ugh....Have you ever heard this guy lecture his guests? Oh, God! He can get so annoying! He never adresses the REAL issues of the problem. For one example, This girl didn't like having sex....And Dr. Phil berated and belittled her! What kind of help was that?

Dr. Phil is only telling you how to live your life becaus, people go on that show for advice. I would never let him tell me how to live my life.

An extremely arrogant man who thinks he knows everything about everything.....I would rather watch classic reruns of Jenny Jones anyday...that is how bad he is...

I think we all need to remember that Dr. Phil is a psychologist, not Dear Abbey. Although its understandable that he needs to make his point clear in an hour show, this is not the approach that a psychologist should be taking. I have watched the show alot and although there are certain guests that we all feel like yelling at such as the children who have no remorse about bullying and attacking other children on the schoolbus, its not Dr. Phil's place to yell at them and repremand them, although that is what we want to see. Practicing psychologists are not paid to give advice - they are paid to help the client work through their issues themselves. Telling guests on the show that they are dumb as rocks is completely unethical and insulting to the field of psychology. If this is what he chooses to do on a T.V. show as an occupation, he should do it under the title of advisor or talk-show host, not as a psychologist.

I think Dr. Phil is GREAT! I can't believe so many people hate the show.The solution is simple,turn it off, if you think he is so bad.There are to many jealouse people out there. I was hunting a great site for Dr. Phil and his family and know now that it's not here.I am so ashamed of you folks that don't like him,the show and his family.Being from the south, you would not talk about my FAMILY.SHAME on you.I am fighting with my weight and a stroke,he has helped me mentally and I'm sure millions like me.My food made me big not Dr. Phil. I think he brings reality to those who are living in a fantisy world...if you don't like him then maybe your just scared to find out who the true you is and that he may be right for what he may have to say to you. I've realized alot of things and have forgiven alot of people for there behavior because I realize what's going on in their minds...they just don't get it ;o)
