David Caruso is the show. I will be missing Alex, because she was a beautiful character. Each one plays a signifigant part in my mind, and this show keeps me on the edge of my seat as the weeks progress. It is supposed to be different. A different take on crime, and the analyzing of the crime scenes is great, it is at a very emotional level...not so scientific. When I want that, I switch to Vegas, also good. I love the extremes , and one liners..and you can even find interviews where the cast do impressions of Horatio..they write it that way for a reason, his character is very dramatic.Horatio Cain means business!!!

Come on. In a world of fake reality shows, why would anyone even care whether CSI Miami is realistic? If taken with the right grain of salt, it does what it's supposed to do - it's entertaining! Caruso and his geeky persona is amazingly hot in a creepy sort of way. Anticipating the next cheesy one-liner is half the fun. Addictive is as good a word as any.

CSI: Miami has got to be the worst tv show ever. Caruso walks around with slits for eyes, taking his sunglasses ofs and on and off again. The other actors are just as bad. Really horrid show.

This show is my favorite!!!! I am ridiculously obsessed, and Horatio just makes the show! He's my hero! I know it's a little unrealistic, but you've gotta take it with a grain of salt. Why does everyone hate Horatio?

I looooooooove this show!!!!! It is unbelievable and amazing. I mean i know Horatio's (David Caruso) one-liners can be a little out there and down right stupid but still you got to admit...the show is fantastic. it has much more drama and relationship, and everything than the original. David Caruso is sexy in his own way with his scruffy voice, sunglasses, all-black suits, short mysterious relationships (Marisol..never would have worked out anyway), tragic past, (somewhat) innapropriate relationships (Yelina..still gonna happen), random son, and famous one- liners. Right behind him, actually in front of him according to looks is the Hot, sexy, buff, fun, lovable, Eric Delko who has lost his sister, been shot in the head, been sued, and accused of the stupidest things. But as hot as he is and as bad as i feel for him, he will still always have someone there for him, in which i mean I can not get in the way of his obvious love and feelings for Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Proctor) who i... Okay, so we all have to admit that Caruso can't act. He says corny 1-liners, repeats back everything every other characters says before responding, and can't saying a single line without tilting his head and twitching his eyes. But I have to say wrinkles and all, he's still sexy (and I'm 23) and Delko and Wolfe definitely are hot too. Plus, I think the show, especially lately, is starting to get a bit steamier. Overall, I rate this show ADDICTIVE.

David Caruso must have graduated from the William Shatner school for over acting. How many times can he put on and take off his shades for dramatic effect per episode? Was much better as Mitch the cop in First Blood.

I wasn't a big TV watcher until the CSI's came out. I love them all, especially this one because of the acting of all players and David Caruso.

I LOVE this show!! A new guilty pleasure! As a video production teacher, the editing is awesome, making even classically boring lab scenes interesting. David Caruso IS Horation Caine, and he IS the show! Without him, I would stop watching. Emily Proctor is disarming with her sweet voice contrasting her dead serious agenda. Duh, of course, David is posturing and he does it better than anyone on television. Just like Tom Cruise in Top Gun. It's a fun thing to watch. If you are going to posture, then posture well. That's the whole point.

Wrong Wrong Wrong - the High Octane episode missed the reality mark. Tapping the pipeline full of JET fuel was a big miss too. Jet fuel is like kerosene and a car will not run on jet fuel! They should have said aviation gasoline or avgas. Tapping the line was not believable either - it needs to be shut down to put a tap in it. The lighting cord would not cleanly cut your or anyone's head off. It was maybe a 12 gage copper wire (2 wires) and the wire would have broken or the supports would have broken. The writers should watch Mythbusters about the 5/8" steel cable that would not cut a pig carcus. Copper wire is not HIGH TENSION wire. And yes, I am a structural engineer for a power company.

All the CSI series are great but Miami edges it for me. Maybe the setting's got something to do with it. David Caruso's very charismatic in his role. What's particularly good about the CSI series is the science behind the forensics. Now I'm not a forensic scientist so I'm not sure how accurate the 'science' is here but it at least it is logical and convincing.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who finds David Caruso an irritating and awful actor. He just stinks up the screen with his posturing and postulating. At first, I thought he was going for camp, it was so bad. Actually, that's how I can tolerate watching him now -- I just laugh at his overacting ass.

This is the absolute WORST of the CSI series. The acting is that of a high school drama club. The plots are horrible and filled with useless one-liners. I just saw the latest episode involving a bunch of gamers who get bored with violent games and move into the real thing. Talk about trying to use shock value for ratings. In conclusion, acting: horrible - plot: horrible - stupidity: incredible. This series makes me enjoy the original CSI and CSI: New York even more than before (it's one of those better by comparison things). I'll celebrate when this series finally gets canned from low ratings.

I think i'm going to have to clear something up here. The creators of CSI: MIAMI wanted to make the spin-off (I have never liked that label but ill use it anyway) as different from Vegas as possible. This show has a more cop feel to it. They pull out their guns every episode. Horatio Cares, and i mean really cares, about the victims and their families, Calliegh comes in with her kit and cute southern accent and KICK'S ASS, Delko dives for tresure, Alexx talks to dead people (And she is so much better than that kid in The Sixth Sense) and Yelina battles her attraction to Horatio and her Loyalty to his Not-quite-so-dead brother, her ex-husband. And they do all this in the most beautiful, sunny setting imaginable. These Characters are believeable, and the actors that play them are brilliant in making them so believeable. David Caruso is a great actor. His ability to make you cry is fantastic and real. Horatio is dedicated to his job, to catching the bad guy, Grissom is dedicated to the... Read more

I absolutely love this show!!!! Rory Cochrane did not get run out of the show. He went to the producers at the end of season 2 and told them that he wanted to leave so they wrote him out on the season 3 opener. It was his decision to go. As for David Caruso...He is Horatio Caine. When I first decided to watch CSI:Miami it was already into their 2nd season. I kept putting it off because I didn't like David Caruso. I was very surprised that I liked the character of Horatio Canie. He portrays him perfectly and now I am a fan of David Caruso. I think the entire cast is great (even newcomer Jonathan Togo). I just wished that Rory would have wanted to remain on the show.

I do not hate this show, but I think it would be better without David Caruso. He...just cannot act. He poses, as though he were a male model in a J. Crew catalogue. Is there anyone on the set that can explain blocking to him? You can't just stand with your hands on your hips and looking at nothing in particular while melodramatically spout twaddle a third-grader can (and probably has) made up while playing cops 'n' robbers with his imaginary friends, and capping it off by hypermelodramatically putting on your sunglasses. You killed off Speed, you took Kim Delany (boring but believable) off, PLEASE won't you consider killing off Caruso (probably not even his real name), preferably in some really, REALLY horrible way? You could make it a crossover show with CSI (The Superior Product) like you did to (re)introduce the world to Caruso! There are many of us that REALLY HATE CARUSO, and not because he used to be on another show and decided he wanted more money for his, ahem, talents. ... Read more

I watch it, but am not as big a fan of this version as I was the Las Vegas CSI. The actors seem stilted here, especially that blonde character, she really is a bad actress. Plus, I hate it that every time I tune in to EITHER CSI shows, it is another blasted re-run, how many original episodes do they make each season--5??

David Caruso is perfect. He doesn't look the part, but has it nailed. I didn't see hardass coming from him. He is completely unphased by any situation. Rori Cochrane is also a great addition to the CSI team. Just as good, if not better than the original CSI.

Qualitatively CSI Miami is not even in the same ballpark as the original, however, some of the case files are interesting and the overall production and photography is professional, so I think 2.5 stars would be about right. CSI Miami is like a fashion magazine CSI with some unrealistic casting. Consider the female characters, who clearly spend hours a day on working out and beautifying themselves, yet in the real world the working hours of forensic scientists and detectives are irregular and the workload enough to lead to sleepless nights. The chasm between reality and CSI Miami is gaping. In the original CSI the casting was done much better and managed to mix the real world with the entertainment sheen well enough not to stick to the eye like a needle. The dialogue in CSI Miami also seems a little bit more rudimentary and more quip oriented than in the original, or it could be that the actors just can't deliver the lines believably. And then there is David Caruso, who has done a dubi... Read more

This show would be so much better if you did not have David Caruso. He ruins it for me. NYPD Blue improved so much once he left. This show might improve if he was replaced. He comes across as one of the most unattractive, arrogant actors on screen. Even when he's acting sympathetic there is no real emotion. The supporting cast isn't nearly as great as CSI.

If they found somebody other than David Caruso to play the lead part in this show, it might actually be worth watching. I have been to Miami many times, and there is definately alot better looking cops than that guy around ! Ewww ! And I am positive they can find some fresh, new talent that can act alot better than Mr. Caruso as well.

The Miami incarnation lacks all the zest and originality of its predecessor. The dialog is awful! Are the same people writing both shows? Or maybe it's the inability of the cast to carry their lines? Consider Calleigh (the southern belle gun-nut); compare how unbelievably languid she is when delivering a sly remark with CSI's Catherine. Catherine floats a snide comment like feather-- she's an incredibly believable character (even if not a likable coworker). Blonde Gun-nut is as quippy as Horatio is humble. She's also whiny. And dolled up like a hussy. Cheap copy of the original.

Has anyone ever seen David Caruso act? Anyone? Staring like a zombie is not acting. There's a scene where he is running out of an exploding building, casually strolling and no emotion. Much less enjoyable than the other CSI.
