Disturbing yet captivating art. Brilliant character development and story. The details in both visual presentation and storyline nuance are about the most complex of any animated movie I've seen.

Like most Miyazki films, the story and imagery is great. The soundtrack is also one of the best in a Studio Ghibli film, one I personally think can only compare to the one from Princess Mononoke. If you like world cinema, Anime, or anything with a bit of cultural reference to it then I strongly recommend giving this film a try - it is one of the best Anime movies I have ever seen. It is even one the whole family can enjoy (violence is only implied and is never actually seen though).

Empathy for the characters and an awesome plot. Hayao Miyazaki is perhaps one of the most artistic and influential animation writers today. Every one of Miyazaki's anime movies are a wonder, though Steam Boy was a bit slow at times.

great movie for kids. Some younger kids might be scared by some of the images but worth watching for other kids. From the maker of 'Princess Mononoke'. He is good at making movies about courageous young girls that are great viewing for all kids.

This has to easily be THE BEST cartoon I have EVER seen and so far the best feature I've seen this year. Creative, engaging, unpredictable, wierd, incredible pace, funny, the list just goes on. I loved the stories moral tale of greed and love conquering all, it was told in a more respectable and dignified way than an in-your-face you must heed mawkish way. The beauty of this feature is that it's target audience was directed more at adults than children. You walk away from this movie feeling good and you completely understand why its called Spirited Away.

That's one freaky anime`. A young girl and her parents step into a strange world which turns out to be a strange bathhouse for spirits. Alice in Wonderland has nothing on this nightmarish land. The story is strange and a little haunting, but very enjoyable. Excellent animation (with great bits of computer animation mixed in there, too).

It was alright but there was way too much hype surrounding this movie. This movie was just too weird for me. I didn't really care to follow the exploits of a loud mouthed, accident prone, little girl.

My fave. It is beautiful, interesting and makes ya think. I wanna buy this Oscar winning classic.
