Curious wording, almost like Republicans are chucking Bibles and starting to eat each other or something. (make sure you use honey mustard if you eat Rush) Not so sure I believe that anyone is in disarray. Swings are swings and as it becomes more evident that certain people in high places ain't cutting it, another swing will happen. Such is the artificial nature of politics in the USA.

If God's Own Party doesn't start listening to Rush, Coulter and Hannity, it could begin to start losing elections!

I'm not a fan of the dual-party system to begin with. But when one of two dominant parties loses as much credibility as the GOP has in recent times, the shortcomings of the dual-party system become even more glaring.I'm an independent who has voted Republican more times than I have Democrat. But I promise you this: I will never back a party -- Democrat, Republican, Green, what have you -- that endorses candidates as unfamiliar with their own running-mates' voting record, or as ignorant regarding constitutional jurisprudence, as is Sarah Palin. It was hard for me to interpret the GOP's willingness to trot Palin out there, knowing how poorly-versed she was on so many issues, as anything other than an act of utter desperation. I see better-informed, and more promising VP candidates posting on RIA every day.I hope, and have confidence that, the GOP will see better days in the future.

I am not certain it is in any greater disarray than is the Democrat Party, but its voice and ideological message happens to differ to the prevailing ideology of 90% of the mainstream press. The message of free markets, limited government, strong defense, lower taxes and a business-friendly economic environment creating economic growth, jobs and general prosperity are difficult to bring up when the interviewer is calling you a racist and characterizing your intention to steal every American kids' lunch money away. The democrat party today simply has more friends with microphones than ever before and those friends are enthusiastically silencing dissent. But.After his first 100 days, Jimmy Carter was more popular than Barack Obama is now. Jimmy Carter was much more careful about doing permanent harm and running up deficits than is the Barack Obama machine, and his recession was worse that this one is now. Americans like this president while they hate what he is doing. They have not yet begun to blame him for the result. Jimmy Carter bailed out Chrysler because they were too big to fail. Barack Obama gave ownership of Chrysler to the union and a foreign auto manufacturer by forcing them into bankruptcy. I shudder to think what his true intentions are for GM after firing its CEO and assuming the position himself. I believe it is the American people and the American economy that have truly "assumed the position. " The Republican Party is in disarray in a personnel realm as many of its more liberal thinkers have defected to the high-fivin' bandwagon of the left. But, those republicans who remember the core principles of the party will ascend based on their ability to articulate a clear and simple message. They are quiet now as America gives the new guy a chance to implement his ideological vision. When it becomes clear he is driving us over and over, faster and faster, into the same brick wall, they will treat him like a relief pitcher who cannot throw strikes. And the liberal press will characterize it as, "those evil republicans found a way to make him look bad. "

The leftoids here on RIA, in the media, and even at the water cooler are quite correct when they gleefully point out the fact that there is a civil war going on- a war for the heart and soul of the GOP. This is by far not the first time this has happened in political history. The misinformation however comes from the ingorant, and from those who know better and lie anyway. With Ronald Reagan- for the most part, a staunch conservative- the GOP won two consecutive landslides, the second of which was the largest in US political history. Then came the so-called moderate, Bush 41....Mister "thousand points of light", Mister "Kinder, gentler nation". He got his ass whipped by Bill Clinton; but not before he was able to reshape the core of the party power base. True conservatives like Bob Dornan were on their way out. After eight years of Clinton, we got Prince George the Dumber....Mister "compassionate conservative". How funny in retrospect...conservatives know that there was nothing conservative about him; and liberals will tell you he had no compassion. After eight years of that clown...after control of the GOP having been wrested by the neocon/ moderate/ leftist wing of the Republican Party...our leftist friends now want to assure us that the problem with the party is that they are "too conservative'.How funny.
