A writer with a masterful grasp of narrative and exquisite use of language. Transcends the genre. The Bosch novels rival Chandler's Marlowe or MacDonald's Harper novels.

For my money the best crime writer in the field today. Try The Black Echo or The Poet. Seamless plot developments, surprise endings, excellent characterizations.

He has captured my and my wife's imagination as have few authors in recent years. It is quite true that each page brings incredible changes in plot and characterization. You never know who did the horrible murder until the very end. He has gained two loyal fans in us!

Connelly is unbeatable; his books are really great reads: smart and saavy, affecting and memorable.
