One of these loudmouth jerkoffs who is probably convinced that everyone except for 54 other even more ignorant crackers in some Deliverance- like setting in Appalachia is going to hell, and who cherry picks from The Bible in order to prove that anyone outside of the particular denomination he belongs to is evil...it's people listening to buffoons and megalomaniacs like this that leads to a lot of history's worst occurrences, and I often find it hilarious how people who listen to jackasses like this often hate not only other religions, but other races and ethnic groups also. I don't know who, if anyone is God's chosen, but I really don't think it's a bunch of Jack Chick readin', Slim Jim chompin' inbred creatures who can maybe accurately recall every passage in the Gospel of John but are generally illiterate otherwise. This is the type of asshole who, if you were just sitting there watching Hanna Barbera cartoons would burst through your door and go on a rant about how Huckleberry Hound is a Mormon, Magilla Gorilla is an agent of The Pope, and Squiddly Diddly is gay, and so forth...

He's hard to find now. But I do remember a LOT of TV programs about condoms not stopping the AIDS virus.

Becase that's just what we want from pastors....medical advice.

What's funny about Ankerberg is that he rants about the Catholic Church. Hey John, where did your word of God come from, that's right, the catholic church! too much.

John Ankerberg has come up with a truly useful TV ministry for a change , I have watch his shows since the 1970's. It is almost a shock to find some Christian TV that is helpful for a change!!! John presents much helpful information usually in a debate type format that helps keep things interesting. The information on the John Ankerberg show is badly needed by Christians. Topics covered are differences beteween Histroic Bible Christianity and the cults such as the Mormons, New Age, Masonry, Roman Catholics, Jehovahs Witnesses etc ... Ankerberg also covers controversal issues and doctrines that many TV preachers fear to death. The debates are only 30 mintutes long but they are presented in a reasonably fair format and let's both sides have a chance to make convincing arguements.

I think his apologetics style and ministry has been a great help to the church world for a long time. Many people whether they agree with him or not would not have researched the subjects he surfaced if not for him. We're indebted.

I do not agree with all his apologetic stands on all spiritual matters, but a voice like his is needed in this era of false prophets along the lines of Rod Parsley and others like Parsley.

Isn't this the guy who caught Jimmy Swaggart on tape coming out of a motel room with a prostitute? Or did he catch Jim Bakker in a compromising position with one of his canal pals? This guy ought to have his own undercover detective show - it would be much more interesting.

A very dishonest man. He uses straw men to wage his war of anger. It does not matter who he is against, Mormons, Jehovah Witness, Catholics, Satanic Worshippers...the arguments are always the same. And he twists their beliefs. At least get what they believe right...even if you do not agree

An excellent teacher. He takes the covers off of many secret organisations and false religions and exposes them to the light of day. His explanations are very easy to comprehend. He does not talk down to you, but he does not talk over your head either.

Not really a TV evangelist. He is a teacher - and a very good one at that! Good theology and knows the heretics and aberrants, too.

Ankerberg does a terrific job in explaining WHY and HOW of a topic without demanding allegiance to himself but enables the seeker to focus on biblical truths and how they relate to our current situation and the condition of mankind. Very helpful!

All theism is false. A vestige of humanity's unscientific infancy. People continue to hold on to these beliefs because: 1-They feel good. 2-They give immediate gratification. 3-They offer simplicity in an inescapably complex world. 4-They provide morality and meaning for those who want it given to them instead of finding their own way. 5-It gives them hope. But these are false hopes. Untruth should not be spread as truth, especially when it has caused so much hatred and war and undeserved shame as has religion. All evangelists are causing harm.

He does a good job of explaining cults and other non-christian faiths. The only thing that I am against is that he tries to lump Pentecostal Christianity with New Thought, they are VERY different.

Legolas is exactly right, John Ankerberg explains and attempts to educate; he is what I would term an apologist rather than an evangelist and falls into the same category as Hank Hanegraaf. Though, in some ways, the intended result may be the same he definitely cannot be lumped in with the Benny Hinn’s and Paul Crouch’s who would embrace the philosophies of the Boogie Man if it would cause their bank accounts to continue to soar. Those guys are all about attention, ratings, audience appeal and (que Abba) money, money, money in a rich (preacher) man’s world! Ankerberg seems to be sincere, has a lot of good information concerning the cults and, though he may come across as a bit harsh at times, he still appears to tell it like he sees it. I respect that.

Actually, John Ankerberg does less evangelization than he does explaining various issues. I think he tries to be objective; at least, he gets people THINKING. That's a long way from the likes of Paul Crouch and Benny Hinn.
