Ludlum was a great storyteller.He had you enthralled after just a few pages.He sometimes was a bit too wordy and had some stories that were a little too similar for me.Anyone wishing to try a new author should try the Bourne trilogy.His books were never done justice by the movie studios.Matt Damon as Jason Bourne? Give me a break. May he rest in peace.Ludlum was a true pro.

In his day, he was the best! Complicated, but absolutely enthralling plots, The Holcroft Covenant, The Matarese Circle, etc. It's a shame no one ever did what was absolutely necessary in terms of his stories, ie. making them in to mini-series; two hour movies, just doesn't allow time to develop the convoluted plots. Recent books though are not up to the first six or eight.
