Book was in good condition when I received it. I would buy from this dealer again.

All in all, this book was pretty decent. It had lots of action and suspense - I suspected many people. The characters were believable until about 2/3 of the way through when I figured out who the murderer was and couldn't believe the main characters couldn't figure it out. Then, the ultimate confrontation was kind of cheesy.

Starts of well, but then peaks around the middle, its almost as if Baldacci started with a brilliant story but couldn't figure a brilliant way to end it. Hence we have the ridiculous plot and totally childish and incredulous ending...Skip.

I do not read reviews until I am finished reading any book. I was astonished to read the last several reviews. It is ENTERTAINMENT folks, not a book on how to stop global warming. Why are people so cynical. It almost sounds like they are wannabes. Was the ending far fetched, yes, but I still found it entertaining. Was the main villian plausible, no, not really. That is one reason I did not give it 5 stars or even 4 1/2 stars. A presidential candiate is killed during a rally and 8 years later another candiate is kidnapped. A secret service agent in each case is hung out to dry. The first one is now retired from the service. The two agents eventually get together to try to solve the 2 cases. I enjoyed how the writer made these 2 characters. The retired one is now a lawyer and the other is an ambitious female, in a man's world, who is also an olympic medalist. There are quite a few turns of which a vast majority are plausible. How the two agents get together is fun reading. It is a book I had a hard time putting down. Overall, I was not disappointed.
