I love his WWII novels.  His characters have lots of depth- even the bad guys are great.    Definitely my favorite writer.

Higgins is the master of the fictional character interacting with an actual person.Higgins is at his best with The Eagle has landed and The Eagle has flown.He reuses many of his characters which I enjoy. He unfortunately seems to churn out a few books for a quick payday.I highly reccomend him to anyone unfamilar with his works.

As Tom Clancy himself put it: "Higgins is the master."

Flight of Eagles might just be his best yet...I really enjoy his writing and eventhough I am not a fast reader, I do seem to get through his books much quicker than others.
