Easily the most over-rated novelist here. A formulaic churner of contrived plots, she never ceases to bore anyone with a modicum of judgement. Volume does not equal value.

she is one of the few authors whose writing doesn't pale over the years and the re-reads. she's also one of the few mystery writers who can keep the secret until the last page.

One size fits all. The master of formulaic plots and cardboard cutout characters. Suspense writing without much suspense, and there's more thrills reading the menu at MacDonalds. If you've read one of her tired excuses for a novel, you've read them all, so safe yourself the time and effort. Try R. Chandler, D. Hammett, D. Goodis, C. Woolrich or J. Thompson instead: each of these will provide you with a much more satisfying read.

I'm 17, and am two books away from reading the lot of them! Some of her books during the '50s and '60s were not all that great, but her books written earlier were the best.

The Queen of mystery! Not only are her mysteries still entertaining, but they give you a glimpse into several decades of English culture. I particularly recommend her earlier work. The books written towards the end of her life do not represent her best work, and are best read only for cultural perspective.

Her books are very suspenceful and thrilling. She is and always will be the best suspense author in the history of the United States

Her stories often take so many interesting twists and turns. I love all the English culture she brings into the books too. Once you've gotten close to the conclusion in one of her novels, it's hard to stop. Excellent reading.

"Ten Little N......" is probably the best book I've ever written! :o)
