I've always enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, although I'm never sure which collections of them I've read until I find one of the books. And while he's best known for Sherlock Holmes stories, my own personal favorite from Doyle is The Lost World, written almost 80 years before Jurassic Park.

I read as many Sherlock Holmes works as I could find and I recommend them still today.

Once every 5 years or so I re-read my Sherlock Holmes books. I've loved them since I was in grade school.

Quite good, in the short stories. The novels are generally weak except for Sign of Four and Hound of the Baskervilles.

Best in the short story format, SH books are the first and last words in detective fiction. Unsurpassable.

Doyle had a vivid imagination.Creating both Holmes and The Lost World. Holmes is the detective.Everyone else pales compared to him.

Although I've always had a problem with Sherlock Holmes' drug-taking, which I find repellent and unnecessary, the stories are clever and entertaining. Conan Doyle's other fiction is also rich in imagination and excitement.

What else can be said about Doyle's Sherlock Holmes? - The greatest character in fiction.
