I really got a feel for the places and characters in the story. You get lost in the story. You'll love it. This book will always have a place in my Library!

L'Mour's best non-western novel by far! The conflict between the two main characters keeps the reader glued to the pages, I found it difficult to put down. The survival lore shows a great attention to detail & extensive research by the author.

Louis L'Amour departs from his Western genre with this story of a downed pilot of American Indian heritage in Russia. He escapes his captors and follows the possible path of early ancestors who crossed the land bridge to Alaska.

Modern adventure writers could take lessons from LL

I've read almost every book L'amour wrote, but if I had to chose a favorite out of all of them The Last of the Breed would win, hands down!!! I've read it at least 3 or 4 times.
