At his best, in Dogs of War or Day of the Jackal he is very good. Otherwise he is pretty average.

Forsyth has tremendous talent.He can write riveting short stories or lenghty novels.He does not revisit the same ground as some storytellers do to their detriment.I always enjoy spending a few hours on his books.A true mastermind.
