I think her earthseas series is brilliant - please do not think the recent mini-series does her books justice, they don't. The minimal approach she uses in her orginal trilogy masks a depth that you tend to appreciate as you get older. I'm constantly amazed how much she could fit into the slender novels that constitute the original series. Which represent 3 pivotal times in the life Ged, he who would become the arch-mage of all of earthsea. Many of today's epic fanatsy writers could learn much from her.

Ursula K. does not have as polished a writing style as some, but her narrative makes her an author that should not be missed. Her book Lathe of Heaven should be read and re-read, once for the joy of the reading; then again if for nothing else but to consider the social implications hidden in her storytelling. What if one man's dream and nightmares literally changed the face of the world? Her books help to landmark an era of shifting social consciousness that is still growing today. She is a wonderful author. I highly recommend her.

I have fond memories of the Earthsea trilogy. Its been quite a while since I read them but I feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I think of them so I'm positive I liked them a lot.

When I was younger, I didn't like her novels. I wasn't sophisticated enough for them, well, that's what I thought. But then I discovered the Wizard of Earthsea. I was somehow then able to move on to some of her short stories. And finally, up to The Left Hand of Darkness. I really love Ursula's works. They are brilliant.
