Windows 95 was a huge leap up from MSDOS and the previous versions of Windows that were essentially shells as opposed to an actual operating system. Win95 was also a good faith attempt at making the installation of new hardware easier for novices using plug and play technology as well as recognition software. Though not supported anymore (it's hard to believe that it's been more than ten years since the release of Win95), the fact that this operating system was so far advanced over its predecessors earns four stars from me.

Yes it still can be found out there and it was the state of the art when it came out but was very unstable and prone to the blue screen of death.

Isn't this dead yet? I used it 8 years ago when I was in school. I can't imagine still having it now, though. Anyone still use 3.1?

Very old but you can find games for 95 at the flea market nowadays. Probably because almost everyone knows that this OS sucked. I remember the crashes and try not to reminisce too much about the old days. Thank goodness 98 came out.

Let's say it is simply old...

A good stab at a 32-bit OS back in the day, but 98 kicked it in the butt hard.

nice try... took them 3 years to fix it though.

Old as crap.

It's good, but kind of outdated for today's standarts, plus it has a few issues that are quite annoying, and are fixed in 98, which is good, stable, and is still good enough for today's standarts. Butter upgrade to 98 SE.
