Manners are very important! Many people in today's society seem to forget that! Here's a toast to the man in manners!

Although her column is interesting, and necessary for many people, Miss Manners tends to take a very long approcah to answering a question. Sometimes it is necessary to start over to find out what exactly she's trying to say. Too wordy!

I don't bother reading her column, just too damn boring and pretentious. I do read the Q's & A's; sometimes she gives a sensible answer but she takes the snooty high-society lady persona a bit too far. (She should leave that to Dame Edna; at least he/she is actually funny at times.) And who cares what's the proper utensil for consuming puree of squid? Some people obviously need to get a life!

An excellent voice in this coarse age, and not at all humorless. Point reduction for the limit she places on her scope of advice.

While often the topics covered in her columns are not that interesting to me (I really couldn't care less about the proper dress for a wedding shower or whatever), Miss Manner's has a wonderful way with words. I think she gives a lot of people the impression of being stuffy and outdated - this is not the case. Almost every question that a person asks her is answered with humor. I read one of her books ("Miss Manners' Guide To Rearing Perfect Children") and thought it was definitely worth a look. She's a clever woman who attempts to keep herself up-to-date. Nuff said. Take care, everyone!
