While I protest the "date rape" association, I give the substance itself high marks for being a catalyst for followship, merriment, and happiness. As a dabbler several years ago, I of course suffered from a few cases of over-indulgence (Spain...whew!), but the 90% of error-free experiences were some of the best times I ever had on this planet. Intoxication can happen with anything...two-thirds of Americans are intoxicated on food...fatties; not to mention booze. My advice: people should only opine upon things of which they know about and not fear the unknown...pansies.

I give this really a 2.5 just for the   misuses.Taken in prescribed doses it not harmful at  all,In fact I have friend that was on adderall for because she has narcolepsy,and her dr switched her to this,strange indeed how it works to keep her awake,I guess it's the same type deal as people being prescribed adderall for both adhd and narcolepsy.on the person who is hyper it calms them down,and if they are sleepy it wakes them up.

i can't say i fully approve of the recreational intoxification effects of this drug, but using this drug as a seditive just so you can get in and get off, is hopeless and means you are completely worthless and beyond reach. really messed up

Why are you talking about the misuses only? GHB is a substance that acts the same way as alcohol without the toxicity. Great for socializing, great as a sleep aid, great for relaxing... No hangover. Also it doesn't destroy serotonin (unlike alcohol) so you don't feel depressed afterwads. After 4hrs of relaxation, GHB will give you a boost of energy! When you pass out because of too much GHB, you get reparing sleep, then you feel refreshed and full of energy when you wake up! GHB is the Perfect Alcohol: alcohol with none if it's nasty side effect or toxicity. btw, GHB is rarely used as a daterape drug, most drugs that are used are hypnotics (rophynol) or the like, or just plain taking advantage of smashmed drunk girls. Stop being so close minded!

This one is just Chicken Sh**, if you need to drug people to score you need a lot more help than a drug. Good chance you will end up with some std because you are not using this on some one you know. Again I can not see the recreation in this especially if your the one who has to take it.

I could actually rate this as a two because I know some guys who take this instead of drinking every once in awhile because it's more potent. I can't because I had my drink drugged over the summer and GHB is what is thought to have been what was in there. I was lucky, that the guy didn't put enough in, thinking that I would be a cheap drunk anyways because of my size. Well that stupid mofo was wrong! I am a rowdy private school girl who can most definately handle more than two shots worth of whiskey! He started really trying to take advantage of me once the the drug started to kick in. I was sitting on the couch and he came and laid down beside me, put his arm around me and laid me next to him. He started massaging my back and kissing me dowm my neck, I tried elbowing him away but I couldn't aim properly and I kept missing. I kept saying and saying that I had a boyfriend who I cared very much about even though we were in a fight.I was lucky, other's may not be. No one can convince me that he didn't, I can handle two shots of whiskey, and two shots isn't going to keep a person out of it for five hours. I couldn't convict him because I didn't want to believe it at first so I didn't get a drug test before it left my system. I can't believe that anyone could be so cruel to do that. If someone doesn't want you then you can't change that so don't try, if push comes to shove use your freakin' hand!

I think it is extremely closed-minded of rateitall to label this "Date Rape" drug. This is about one tenth the date rape drug that alcohol is. GHB and alcohol are extremely similar drugs! GHB is more potent, and although it has been used in the past for date rape purposes, most of the time people take it to get messed up and listen to music. While I'm not saying it is a fantastic drug, it is far more than just a "date rape" drug. Hell, you used to be able to buy it at GNC not too long ago, it can't be all that bad.

I, being a guy, was once given GHB by another guy. I threw up. Weird.

This drug should be taken off our streets once and for all! I don't even know why recreational drugs are even on this website. They suck! They are a threat to people and our civilized society! They turn people into evil monsters who rape and kill other people!
