Somewhat dark, but this was one of the best television shows of the early 2000s. Great writing, great acting, though the emotions were sometimes so intense it was hard to watch. I'm just starting the final season.

Interesting premise for a television show. The subject matter pretty much predicted it's demise. (no pun intended) I would think it would be hard to find companies that wanted to advertise on this show. Quality series that I didn't get to see very often. Maybe I will rent the show from a video store and fill in the gaps.

Hello, I wanted to let you know about a video interview I did with Peter Krause and Richard Schiff talking about their new film, Civic Duty. Peter mentioned his Six Feet Under 'Narm' episode. You can check it out here: http://www.jewreview.net/article.php?id=1346. Please credit, thanks!! Shmuel Reuven Managing Editor, JewReview.net SRC Unlimited LLC shmuel@jewreview.net

Easily the best drama on television, and is sorely missed. RIP.

It is difficult to explain on how many levels this show can entertain the audience. First few seasons were a 3.5, but by the 4th season the show and it's characters matured to point beyond recognition from it's previous seasons. The story-line so powerful & compelling. It was one of those seasons where one show per viewing was not enough, I need 2 or 3. Without a doubt, one of the best series finales of all time. I was sad to see it go.

Loved it. Sorry to see it go.

Have watched all episodes of SFU and it's been brilliant-will miss it. And the finale last night was terrific, unique and cleverly done.

Sorry to take a crap on your doorstep, but me and my mates settled down to watch the last ever Six Feet Under last night. The first hour was the show at its finest - emotional, complex and involving... OK, so after a while, Nate's moaning at Brenda did get a bit annoying, but nothing, NOTHING could prepare this set of British viewers for the finale. It could have all ended as the extended family toasted Nate at the dinner table, or even when we peered into the future to see David introducing Durrell to the family business... but it didn't... The last ten minutes were some of the most painful television I have ever witnessed. The mood, tone and subtlety of the previous five series evaporated into a haze of soft lighting and possibly the worst make-up ever committed to a television screen. I would never had expected to describe Six Feet Under as schmaltzy... Not only was it laughably awful, it also introduced a bag full of plot holes. Here's an edited list: - Did Keith start his own security business? If so, why's he doing the deliveries?!? - Did Rico go into competition with the Fishers? If so, did they remain friends (he was at Claire's wedding, after all). - What happened to Billy? Did he 'recover' or is always gonna be plain ol' crazy Billy? - How come Nate hated Brenda throughout the episode, but right at the end, in the presence of his father, they made peace? With Claire's sudden transformation into blonde, at least we now know the future holds hope for gingers everywhere. Can't believe I've sat here and typed all this, but we're kinda furious over here!

I saw the finale last night here in the UK and I can't stop thinking about it. The song at the end, Breathe Me, was so powerful and it was the most amazing ending. Everything about the show was fantastic and I will really miss it.
GobTheHotCop 10/26/2005
I will miss this show, it wasn't always great, but it was different and interesting. Peter Krause needs a new show.
kattwoman 10/03/2005
it was wild and wierd concept for a tv show. i wish it hadn't ended so soon.
koolaide 09/02/2005
My favorite tv show ever
carol527 08/22/2005
THe series finale had the best ending of any show or movie I have ever seen. This was truly a classic

Great series ending to show last night. I liked watching the older billy.
karissalovesda ve 08/22/2005
Six Feet Under is by far the best show ever - never has a show or characters touched me so deeply. Groundbreaking only begins to describe how unique and clever this show is. This show brought to life what society keeps in the closet, and that is death. The acting was phenomenal, the stories unforgettable, and this show will go down in history.
yk2005 07/13/2005
It is the best show ever. Very creative writing. Yet very realistic.

Yuck! Who wants to watch uncreative, angst-ridden drivel about a funeral home of all things! Completely unappealing--like all pay-cable originals seem to be!!
GenghisTheHun 06/23/2005
It makes my skin crawl!
edt4 06/02/2005
One of the better shows on TV overall, and the acting is generally first rate, but the storylines have a tendency to become a little too self-consciously quirky and I lose interest fast...

Hi, everybody! I live in Argentina and I'm looking for Six Feet Under Transcripts. Specially the three last ones from Season 2. If anyone's got them, please e-mail me at dbega@freedom.net.ar Thanks in advance!
curiostyisgood 04/30/2005
There could not be a better show. I think its fantastic.
37102002 04/05/2005
Too much focus on man-man issues, if you get my meaning. However, I love the opening sequence, where someone dies. It normally is the best part of the show.
Estoy 01/18/2005
I'm having to wait for the DVDs as I don't get HBO. Show is different from anything on TV right now. Need to get back to their core, though (if they can).
fivepine 09/25/2004
Besides sex & the city, six feet under is the best show on tv. Wonder when the next season starts?
marni 07/12/2004
I've been a fan of SIX FEET since its first episode. What happened? This 4th season is a major disappointment. Who cares about Rico and his girlfriend's implants? What's with Claire and lesbians/drugs? Nate seems like a lost soul wandering around carrying Maya. Lisa's alive!!! Give me a break. The only somewhat interest this season is David and Keith and Ruth's new husband. I watch because I was a fan and am hoping something will happen to spark that interest. Does anyone know what went wrong...new director, writers (I know Allan Ball is still w/the show), etc? I know I'm not alone judging from the reviews/ratings.
israel Armando 07/09/2004
it's tha besto program in this world
mpmermaid 06/03/2004
What a show! Something for everyone. My God, they even have a 50-something woman who is not Joan Collins but still is sexually active and desirable ... What a revelation! Try telling Madison Avenue we exist!
alpepper 05/28/2004
I got the Season 1 DVD. Weird -- kind of like Twin Peaks -- and macabre. I liked it; but by Episode 3, my wife said she had enough. And that was the end of Six Feet Under.
Lialala 04/01/2004
It's a very interesting show, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it, I always expect things to happen, but they never do. The acting is fairly good, I just wish Claire stop making all those annoying faces. And what's with Frances winning an Emmy? she's not that good! it's should have gone to Jennifer Garner.
evileye 04/01/2004
The BEST show ever created!!!!!!!
andreamarisa 12/15/2003
I love Ketih and Claire, the best couple of the show, they should be marry. The rest of the couples are nothing.
tototoo 11/29/2003
Extremely interesting with very good writing and acting.
EVY827 11/17/2003
A really good cable drama. I've enjoyed the first three seasons and look forward to the next one.
kolby1973 10/12/2003
While I certainly feel that the show is good, it angers me that I have to pay to watch it. But I guess that is how it is....
UrethraMiacin 10/12/2003
Best drama on tv. Lauren Ambrose is the best young actress around.
BorntoRock 07/09/2003
Used to love this, but sooo disappointed by the teenage soap opera it's become. Whiny kids, ridiculously plotless, and yet still formulaic, I long for the days when death seemed a taboo and shocking topic rather than a boring device.

I like this show. It's different, and interesting.
Cat_Mom03 05/16/2003
Gay Guys & Claire are the coolest..the rest suck. although..Rico is hot.
Molfan 03/29/2003
We do not have HBO so we rented this from our video store. I found this to be one of the more original shows I have seen in a long time. The one we rented had three episodes on it. I do not think I seen a tv show that is centered around a family who owns a funeral parlour.Well acted and written. the beginning of each show is interesting because they alway show the person who dies in the first scene. of the three we saw two deaths were kind of humerous and one very tragic. I know I want to rent some more to get to know this show. so far I would give this a good.
morts98 03/15/2003
As an actual Funeral Director, I find much of the goings on to be any where from funny to dumb. They obviously went to some lengths to investigate the morgue set up. Why wouldn't they put some effort into checking out what goes on during an arrangement confrence. If I had an arranger sit doen with a family and pull some of the nonsense that those 2 do they would be out on their ass.
philc 03/03/2003
Season premiere last night was superbly done and this is a very well written show. Not familiar with most of the actors but they have done an excellent job so far. Intriguing program!
callmetootie 01/13/2003
What an excellent series! Great writing, interesting and intriguing stories. Kudos to Michael C Hall, Rachael Griffiths, Peter Krause, Francis Conroy, and Lauren Ambrose for creating such a great ensemble cast.
DANIELLE WILLIAMS 01/08/2003
There never was, and never will be, another show that parallels Six Feet Under. Unbelievably addictive and so entertaining, I can't get enough! I have taped every episode, and would be embarassed if you knew how many times I've watched them. THANK YOU ALAN BALL for something too amazing to be "another tv show." I am eagerly anticipating the 3rd Season, and hopefully a DVD collection. If you aren't a fan of Six Feet, then you'd better stick to Disney.
marlowe1939 11/24/2002
Great Show! I think I am in love with Claire Fisher
debi47 11/15/2002
I LOVE "Six Feet Under"! I rarely have gotten "hooked" on a weekly show; but I did with this show. The show's characters are so good...the show just draws a person in...I am totally hooked now! I look forward every Sunday night; to be able to watch it. There is not another series I like nearly as well. I only hope the show will last for a few seasons...it is so enjoyable. Hands up to the great actors that make the script so believeable! Debbie
Hauwind 09/26/2002
Six feet Under is the best American television drama ever.It displays a subtlety and wryness that is at times breathtaking. Technically it is first class, direction, photography, script and acting. all these elements work together to create a coherent whole. To be honest it gives a non American such as myself belief that there may just be a glimmer of hope for the USA after all
2CHIXNLUV 04/29/2002
if you watched last night, can you solve our dilemma... where did we know that girl who played the wife of the guy who died...the one that was fighting with the 2 daughters??? i'm thinking she's the chick on Friends...the Actress that Joey was crazy for when he was in that play about "Vic and the space ship"... anyone have any thoughts or know her name or know where we can find out??
