Susan Elizabeth Phillips ROCKS!!! Her books are all contemporary (no Regency/historical), with feisty, sassy heroines matched by smart, appealing men. They're funny, believable, very well written, and always satisfying to read. Her characters are quirky and very, very human, and what's really fun is that she tends to write books in clusters, so you may run into a favorite character again as a bit player. Hate sports? I do, but please don't let that put you off of SEP's books, many of which revolve around a fictional football team. I'm sooo not a football fan, and it didn't matter at all. I loved every single one of her books and can't recommend her highly enough. She gets a rare 10 on my 1-10 scale.
