04/24/2004 | Outstanding insight to car performance, in a league with Mears and Big Al Unser, he should have won the Indy 500 at least three times. He finished first in '95, but was not credited with his final laps. Less than a second separated him from two other wins, in '92 and '97. Never had the unfair advantage in equipment, but made the most of what he had.
