I think I just fell in love with Judith McNaught. For me, this one is ranked up there with Kleypas' Dreaming of You.

I bought this book thinking it was something else, but inspite of this loved the story line so much that I stayed up all night reading it. The heroin was beleivable and loveable, the minor characters were quirky and helpful and the hero was a great example of a fellow worth saving. Definitely a worthy addition to any Romance readers collection.

I don't even know where to begin. When I first decided to read Once and Always I was hoping it would be a good read. Boy was I in for a surprise. The first McNaught novel I ever read was Whitney, My Love followed by Almost Heaven, Something Wonderful, Paradise, Perfect, and Kingdom of Dreams. Everytime I read one of her novels I would be left beyond content. I was always left smiling like a crazy romantic fool. Although, just for clarification, being a romantic doesn't make you a fool. Of course, Almost Heaven and Kingdom of Dreams were just my favorites! I don't want to spoil this book for anyone. So, I'm just going to mention the most amazing parts of this novel; the things that have made this book my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! Of all the heroines that McNaught has created I truly feel that Victoria...Tory was the most developed. Her character was more than consistent from beginning to end. I completely love her even if the petite, stubborn, and very young heroine is somewhat overused. None of those ruined her for me, in fact, for once I found that a small, titian, beauty fit more than perfectly. AND of all the heroes that not only McNaught created but so many other writers I love love loveeeee Jason. Sure he was once again the gorgeous rake with a dark past, but he was just so much more emotional and he just seemed so real. I fell in love with him the moment his father, Uncle Charles, said that any woman who healed him would be very happy someday. He was just so...sigh... And everyone of the secondary characters were enchanting. Her sister and how panicky she was at times, her Uncle Charles and how much he loved her like a daughter, her father in the beginning, even Andrew for the somewhat sad ending he gets, but most of all her Grandmama! Take a word of advice from someone who has discovered how truly wonderful romance novels are, pick up a copy of Once and Always and you won't regret it. Oh and you might want to keep a tissue handy.

I loved this book! To all my friends... you know if I rate something a 4 or 5 Star then it's a must read for you! The only draw back is that I couldn't put it down! I do agree just a tiny bit with some of the not so nice ratings/reviews, most of them bring up excellent points... but... I started reading "Once and Always" this morning and didn't get anything done today because it totally sucked me in.
