While enjoyable, it is apparent that these are the early works of a truly talented author. The stories lack a depth that are evident in Nora's later works. I found the 'attack' type behavior that both Travis and Burke utilized eye rollable. How is one supposed to respect the heroine when she is being pushed and pulled around, picked up and plopped down constantly? It hardly matters that they both have "Irish tongues" and can curse fire in two languages. Both stories were over dramatic, however I found Irish Rose much more enjoyable and perhaps as Nora's "second publication" she has developed as a writer.

Ageless love story. It's Ms. Robert's first book and you can see how 20 years on that she's become such a great phenomenon. The central character Adelia moved me in her strength and spirit. I find the book has a certain honesty, freshness and forthrightness about it which is missing in the more well-crafted and titillating romance stories these days.

I have read dozens of Nora's books, and enjoy them all. This very first one was a true pre-cursor of the rest.
