Another great book for nighttime. This is a book full of fantasy and adventure, a Lord of the Rings written for children. Every child I know absolutely adores this book as do I.

My children enjoyed this book when they were small. They named all the monsters, created plots and sub-plots and literally wore it out. I purchased this one for my grandchildren and hope they enjoy it as much. This is a great book to stimulate imagination and flights of fancy. I highly recommend it.

I love the story but I was very disappointmed in the condition the book arrived in. It was supposed to be a new edition, but the book arrived all grubby with dirty marks on it. No drama, because my daughter will add her handprints in time I am sure - I just think if you order something new it should arrive that way.

Great Book and a Timeless Classic with some of the most iconic illustrations ever to grace a 10 sentence childrens book. What more can be said?

I was born in 1962 the year before this book was first published. The book was read to me many times by my dear Mother who passed away March 1st 2009.

The book is wonderfully illustrated and has very few words, but I think that is what is so special about this imaginative story. It leaves so much room for your imagination and it never grows old. I can remember my Mother using different voices for each character in the book when she would read it to me and when I got a bit older I read the book over and over again.

Nothing will fill the emptiness in my heart, soul and body caused by my Mother's passing, but looking back on these cherished memories makes it easier and bearable. I was lucky to share many years with her and I never took her for granted.

I love and miss you Mom!

I wasn't aware that this book was even in print until reading an Amazon friend's review for it. Thanks Andrew!

This book is something every parent should share with their child or children. It will help them explore their imagination and they will know they are loved! What more could you want from a children's book?

I'd never even heard of this book until my son asked if I had read it to my granddaughter. He was horrified at my ignorance. I bought it immediately! Maizie and I LOVE it!!! I just bought another one so she'll have one at her house too.

My kids loved having this read to them. So much so that my oldest, who is in her late teens, gave me an action figure of Max and one of the Wild Things for my birthday last year as a momento.

This is an amazing book. It disappoints me as to how few adults and children have read it. Max was one of the only characters I ever related to as a child. The illustrations are amazing. The story is original. I plan on giving it to every kid that graces my life in the future.

This was one of my favorite books when I was little. I love the drawing style, it's so rich and shadowy.

Nah, I was never feeling it as a kid. I was irriated most by the fact that there only seemed to be color on every other page. Why have color televisions replaced black and white ones? Why are the Sunday comics the best ones of the week? It's the color, damnit. When I "read" books at that young age, my "reading" came from the pictures. So, as a kid, when my satisfaction of a book centered around the pictures, "Where the Wild Things Are" just didn't do it for me. Also, those wild things just weren't too cute. If I was going to "read" about and look at the characters, they might as well have been attractive. Look at movie stars and pop singers. Same concept. This book is just one that adults love, and kids don't care too much for.

I still love this book. Have loved it since I was a child. I'm 39 years old now. One of my fondest memories of books as a child.

The most over rated children's book ever. We can only hope that this book goes permanently out of print!!!!

Man, this is still my favorite book after thirty years of reading. It made a huge impression on me as a kid. So much so that I now have three tattoos from Sendak's glorious pages. WTWTA is a brilliant book that should be a part of every child's survival kit. Flawless. This is the first book I give to my friends and relatives children. Maurice Sendak is a genius.

This is a wonderful book. When I took acting classes, our performances were to convince children to read, and this was one of the skits we put on. I have the entire book memorized.
