Queenstown is a major resort town in New Zealand located in Otago, the 2nd largest region in the country. Queenstown, surrounded by New Zealand’s Southern Alps, is noted for its adventure tourism. Tourists come to Queenstown and indulge in activities such as skiing, jet boating, and bungy jumping. Four world-class ski fields call Queenstown home: Cardona, Coronet Park, The Remarkables, and Treble Cone. Queenstown is often referred to as “Vegas by the lake” by New Zealanders. Lake Wakatipu is located in Queenstown. The estimated population is under 10,000 regular residents.
