Great thrash band, but I prefer Metallica and/or Anthrax.

They're good at what they do but I always preferred the other big 3 thrash bands. All that stuff about mutilation, madenss, hell,suicide etc does my head in after a while. Lighten up for a bit fellas!

Garbage, pure and simple. Mostly noise... can't compare to the classic GREAT metal bands like Priest or Maiden, just to name 2.

Slayer. Now there is a metal band. I have only seen them live once, and they owned the stage. I think their original sounding vocals and talented guitar players make the band. I like bands that go against all morals and say whatever they want when they want. Slayer pulls that off.

I used to listen to Slayer at high volume before every football game in high school, to get me in the right aggressive frame of mind. They are pure musical aggression. Some are put off by their fascination with Nazi history (they aren't white supremacists, the singer is a mestizo from Chile) and anti-Christian themes (also false), but any band has its share of people who don't 'get' them. Remarkable musicians they are as well, except the guitar solos are a little too atonal and wanky for my tastes. But you wouldn't drop an Eric Clapton solo into the middle of such breakneck thrash, so the solos are sort of appropriate I guess. Awesome band.

I don't really listen to Slayer, but they have a wide fanbase and have stood the test of time, plus it's blasphemous that Limp Bizkit (the worst badn ever) is ranked above them here, so I'll just go ahead and give them a 5.

Slayer? SLAYER? Are you kidding me? These boneheads are just plain laughable, like an animated cartoon before the REAL movie starts. Shove them off whatever two-bit midwestern beer-joint they're playing now and let a real band have a chance.

Slayer is the best active metal band, bar none. 2nd only to Sabbath all time (early Priest? I'm divided there). Aggression has merits, even in a minivan.

I do not even like heavy metal as a genre but this group are simply exceptional, if you want to expand your horizonns and blow your mind then listen to them. I appreciate their pure aggression and skillsand if you ever want music to get you hyped up or just feel like a change from tupac, 50 cents, jewel, dave matthews band or whatever listen to them?

slayer is the best band ever to exist! anyone who disagrees should be put to death! i suggest any hardcore slayer fans (which means all slayer fans) should download all of their unreleased tracks like ice titan and night rider. well worth it!

Well after Black Saabbath came slayer all thier albums are good riegn in blood is great and don't worry they won't screw up like metallica did.
