I was in a hurricane once, and that this is enough. I was in Hawaii, of all places, in the early 1980's. That was the storm that devastated Kauai.

Was in a mild one once, but it was scary enough for me. I would hate to be in one like Katrina or worse.

When I moved to Florida's east coast a few years ago, locals assured me the area never got hurricanes. We almost immediately enjoyed three.

Roofers are still hoping for another.

Notable hurricanes that I can think of are Katrina, Ike, and Rita. Thankfully in Memphis, if a hurricane does manage to make it up here, it is usually a tropical storm. I remember when Katrina got here and it was actualy a Cat. 1 but while here, it weakened to a tropical storm.
