The first of his noisy (in a good way) LPs with Crazy Horse. A couple of long jams ("Cowgirl in the Sand" and "Down by the River) which define the Neil Young/Crazy Horse sound plus the hit "Cinnamon Girl." The lesser known tunes are a bit below Neil's standard but are OK.

A classic! No self-respecting hippie would be without this record.

Very good 2nd album, in addition to the three radio hits ("Cinnamon Girl" "Cowgirl in the Sand" and "Down By The River") the more or less country- rock title track is also a truly superb tune, as is "Round and Round."Excellent guitar playing from Neil and the late Danny Whitten on this album. Not quite a 5 star album, but one of his best ones IMO.

Definitely one of the greatest albums ever created on God's green earth. Also proves he is one of the greatest guitarists in the world through his play on emotions and not just pure skill that anyone can do when they put their mind to it.

Neil's best album. Cowgirl in the Sand, Down by the River (it's evil twin) and Cinnamon Girl. Great jam songs made for anyone's garage band. An awkward guy making awkward music for an awkward world. The cool thing is; he sounds just as bad as us! And you've got to love a guy for that. Long live Crazy Horse!!!

Good...but overrated, as is most of Neil Young's stuff.

Absolutely brilliant Young album...the first with Crazy Horse(The Rockets). Features Cinnamon Girl, the title track(great song", Down By The River & the classic Cowgirl In The Sand. What's wrong with music these days is the sort of person who would rate a wonderful record like this "terrible" or "bad". Neil Young is, quite literally, a genius. From 1969.-- Johnny Roulette
