03/29/2002 | Coconut Grove has some good restaurants, but generally speaking, it's the cheaper version of Coral Gables and South Beach. The Grove is in a more seedy part of town where muggings and murders take place almost regularly. I know South Florida has a reputation for a high crime rate, but this area has one of the highest crime rates in the area. The area around the convention center is nice, but the Grove is kind of seedy. Parking is also impossible here most of the time.
