Some of the best memories of my life are the animals I have known. Losing them is hard but, being able to recall them is a blessing.

The animals I have had I have treated just like family members. And it is a very painful experience to lose them, especially when you've had them for so long, as there is a special bond.

As I said with a family member; I definitely wouldn't wish the erase the memory of the pet, but the event that took his/her life is something I don't wish to replay on my mind everytime I am trying to think GOOD thoughts. The last pet that died at my house was a pekinese named "Hoover" (yes like the vacuum) and he had a seizure in my lap and died on our way to the vet. It was terrible...THAT'S the memory I wouldn't mind erasing.

Why would anyone want to forget good memories?

I see my pets as a part of the family. Every animal, all the way down to even the snails, have their own little personalities. There's not a single pet that I'd want to forget.
