I bought some rum at the airport in Aruba and it was from the D.R. I cannot think of the name and threw the bottle away, but it was very smoothe and delicious. It had the spout in it to lessen the amount of pour and it was in a bottle with a blue top.
Does anyone have any idea what this was?

Just got back from a week in Punta Cana, DR. The Barcello Rum was fantastic. I love the sublte flavors. It reminds me of sipping a very fine scotch. Nothing comes close1

Dominican rum is not that great. Brugal is the only rum thats good well ok to me. Bacardi is a good light rum and being its from P.R now and not Cuba the sugar is finer so makes the rum better. i might be biased being that im Dominican, but i live in the US and nothing here compares to DOminican RUM! Brugal extra viejo is my favorite, but Barcelo and Bermudez is very good also

As a loyal Bacardi rum drinker since my early 20's there was no other rum or liquor that could top it. (Of course it also helped that I am a Cuban-American and as most people should know Bacardi is originally from Cuba, not P. R.)Well I ended up marrying a Dominican woman and the first time we visited the Dominican Republic I was introduced to Barcelo rum. Man I loved it right from the start. This rum is so smooth that you can drink it straight from the bottle, without any refrigeration and it goes down smooth like a liquoer. The only problem is that it is very hard to get here in the U S. but I am sure if you get to try it you will love it too..

Had this rum in the Dominican. It is still the best i've ever had. Period.
