Some of the most ruthless people can be diligent about their work so it doesn't good character. Somebody can be loving and caring and still be lazy as hell.

this is where my weakness lies. i am the queen procrastinator from hell. my friend is in the running for the title but we both deserve to wear the crowns . we will put everything and anything off until the very last possible minute but we always managed to get it done but under alot of unnecessary stress

when someone has this trait i have great respect for them, but i wouldnt say that gives them good character. I also wouldnt say that a person without it lacks good character so i'll give it a two

Rarely do I find people without a work ethic to be worth a damn. People who work usually are working for themselves and a loved one. . .thus they can conceptualize life outside of themselves. A good work ethic is worthy of trust and admiration.

Some may see this as at odds with the good character trait of caring for family, but it doesn't have to be. To me, this means showing strong dedication to your projects for both your employer and family at home. Few are perfect here (I procrastinate at times), but the most diligent among us have that something extra that seems to define excellent character.
