Anyone who willingly hurts someone they claim to love for their own selfish needs has a big flaw in their character. dishonesty, selfishness, and inconsideration leaves no room for good character.

you have no business being in a relationship where one person believes this in your faithfulness and you are not. you live a life of lies and it can be devastating to the other person when they find out and they always find out.what kind of person can tell someone they love them and continue to lie to them on a daily basis and continue to do something that they know is going to hurt that person they claim to love? it will never make sense to me i guess cause i'm not made that way and i don't want to be that way.

You can rationalize this till you're blue in the face. But a man or woman who cheats on their spouse is a rat, pure and simple, especialy if you're married to a good person. To me, it shows selfishness, and a desire to satisfy your own pleasures, at the risk of hurting someone you love, not to mention the resulting damage you can cause your kids. To me, if you would have no problem screwing over your family, you would have no problem screwing me over.

I dont believe for one minute that any person that has an affair is short on character. Sometimes relationships do not work and it always one persons fault more than the other. (some would like to think that the blame should be shared) But there is a right way to end a relationship just like anything else. Having an affair may not be that way. An affair usually happens because someone is afraid to see their parner suffer, even if they deserve it. Others because we are human and the specific temptation is just too much. Human Sexuality is a very deep seeded instinct that has been in our makeup long before we became civilized. Its something we need to remember before judging people right away.

I was and still am a big fan of Bill Clinton. I think the guy ran a great country and is a very intelligent and likeable person. But I must admit, he definetely tarnished his rep with the Lewinsky thing. When I see a picture of his smiling face I still think Oh cool that's Bill Clinton I like that guy but a little voice in the back of my head says scumbag. You know, like the cynical guy who fake coughs but actually says a word - well I hear that. It's just always on your mind that Bill Clinton's a bit of a slimeball. He wasn't a 19 year old kid; this was a mature adult. I'm not going to say that since he was the President he should have been beyond that, because we all know that people of stature make the same mistakes as everyday Joe's, but I will say that Bill was certainly old enough to know better and an honorable person does not cheat on their spouse.

In close relationships, cheating around is almost certain to cause very harsh judgments of your character. You can go from loved to hated overnight. Strangely, men can be revered by a some outsiders to the relationship when they brag about being an accomplished player. The reaction will be deep contempt, however, for anyone who knows and likes the lady being played. Temptation hits most married folks, and it is self-control and good character that can spare a potential disaster. Those who can easily be disloyal to a dedicated partner are sure to score low on the other positive traits on this list.
