He should fit into the South Carolina mold. He doesn't have much of an act to follow succeeding Fritz Hollings. I used to watch for Hollings on C-Span. Towards the end he made no sense at all. It would have been funny if not so sad.

Jim DeMint is a died-in-the-wool Republican pol.  I do not believe he has any principles other than to regurgitate anything the GOP wants to hear to get elected, which, in SC, will get you a long way.  He's not good for the state or the nation.

This guy makes terrible comments about teachers, gays, and women, yet somehow he still manages to get elected? Go figure.
