The only way this Series could have been better- in terms of subjective results- is if Godzilla stepped on moronic ex- reviewer Jar Jar Binks after the final out.

Nirvana for Red Sox Nation--and hell for Yankees fans! :)

The 86 year sentence that the Red Sox recieved for trading Babe Ruth finally came up and they got parolled, Yippie!

Sorry bowing one, but I happen to enjoy this moment in baseball history, especially since it was at the expense of those damned Yankees. I was laughing my ass off at them back in 2001 as well. :)

great team!!! I got pictures from www.SportPicturesOnline.com The best selection.

this team earned my respect and a place in my heart by embarassing the yankees by coming back from three games down. I don't think that outside the state of new york there was a single baseball fan who's heart didn't smile for the bosox. (okay, perhaps st. louis didn't have much to smile about) but other than that the whole baseball world should have been celebrating.

Just glad I lived to see it.

What they did in the ALCS is unprecedented in MLB history. Granted, they should have never been down 0-3 to an inferior team. What is this crap about the Cardinals not showing up because of a draining NLCS? What made their series more draining than having to play 4 straight do or die games? That is the single worst baseball excuse I believe I've ever heard. The series sweep of LaRussa was a no-brainer, but it is the 2004 Red Sox being graded here, not the 2004 World Series. I'm just happy for Wakefield above all else. The 2003 ALCS shouldn't have been what he was remembered for.

GREAT game 7 of the ALCS! So glad I got to see that. And for Boston to win the last 8 games in a row, after being down 3 games to none against the Yanks, was pretty amazing. St. Louis didn't have a chance.

Down 3-0 to the Yankees. Everyone gave up on the Red Sox after losing 19-8 in Game 3. After the Red Sox won Game 4, didn't matter. They are still way behind in the series for any hope. After the Red Sox won Game 5, didn't matter. They can't win in New York. After they won Game 6, this won't matter if they lose Game 7. Game 7. Damon hits a grand slam and a two=run home run. It was a 10-3 win! World Series was forgettable except for the final out and Suppan being a dummy at third base in Game 3 (I think!)

With the aquisitions of All-stars Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke, the Red Sox win the 2004 World Series. Sounds like the Yankees to me. Hypocrites.

84 year wait. I don't have that kind of patience. Do you?
LanceRoxas 03/08/2005
I'd have to say coming back from a 0-3 deficit to win the series against the Yanks has to go down as one of the most memorable events for couple reasons: it had never been done in baseball history; and it brought down the Evil Empire in the most spectacular chokes in major league history!
Skizero 03/08/2005
the ALCS was certainly a memorable series. but there was really nothing of note to this team who spent the entire 2004 season looking up the Yankees butt. More memorable to me, is how the city of Boston beat this wonderful victory into the ground and made it almost as ingratiating as another Yankees WS Win.
mtbmlb 03/07/2005
I have to give them credit for overcoming the Yankees, but I hope they don't win another one for another 86 years. They should've won it in '86.
UT516 02/26/2005
You're not that impressed because St. Louis just didn't show up!?!?! The Yankees games WERE THE SERIES!!! We beat the Yankees, and THAT IS WHAT MATTERS...winning the world series was icing on the cake, and the highlight of many of us diehard fan's lives...
Jar-Jar Binks 02/02/2005
First time in 86 years, but I'm not impressed a bit. St. Louis just didn't show up. Because the Cards just got through a draining series against the Astros. Boston had an extra day off.
Alexg681 02/02/2005
Great moment!! I'm not a Red Sox fan but I hate the Yankees as much as anyone, and to beat them down 3 games to none, they become the 1st team ever to accomplish that, amazing considering that they could never beat the Yankees in big games. Plus winning the World Series for the first time since 1918, that was just an amazing job by the Red Sox.
dietdew11 01/22/2005
I have lived in Pittsburgh all my life, moved to Texas in September 2004. I think the Red Sox team of 2004 made my life beating the Yankees after being down three. I am so happy for all the fans in Boston. Congradulations
TriSec 11/29/2004
I still can't hear it enough...THE RED SOX WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
Enkidu 11/08/2004
Did it for me.
buckeyerob 11/08/2004
Maybe New England's most memorable moment, but not baseball's. What is so thrilling about a four game sweep? Props on the ALCS, however. That was truly inspiring. Especially since it gave the Yankees the title of all-time biggest chokers. Hey, sounds like a new list to me.
irishgit 11/05/2004
The Sox not only break the curse, but do it in spectacular fashion, coming back against the hated pinstripers after falling behind three games to none and being three outs away from getting swept. Setting off on a memorable 11 day exodus, winning eight straight and sweeping the Cards in devastating fashion. A truly memorable year for a bunch of idiots.
