I'm a liberal and I Can't stand this band, this has got to be the most overrated rock band in music history, it paved the way for the worst era of rock ever (Nu Metal, Pop Punk, Emo etc)

Good starter collection. However, it seems like my favorite NIRVANA songs are all non-singles. (?)

Nirvana was one of the bands out of the Grundge era as a band destined to be a classic. Smells like Teen Spirit is a good song, as is You Know Your Right, but their real jems are songs like All Apologies and Heart-Shaped Box. RIP Kurt Cobain.

If Only That Hatist BITCH Courtney Love didnt kill The God Of Grunge Kurt Cobain. Nirvana would have been the most influencial band EVER

a mediocre cash-grabbing collection for a band that deserved more than the result of this Courtney Love/Nirvana lawsuit. they just can't get it right. this set is too slight and the boxed set is too vast. could've been so much better.

Nirvana was one of the best bands to come out of the Seattle Grunge Scene.Catchy but heavy riffs, that actually GROW on you over the years instead of wearing out.Quality stuff-destined to be appreciated long after todays flavor of the month has decomposed beyond recognition.

This CD is okay, but there are several of the best Nirvana songs missing. The only one off the top of my head that I can think of is Something in the Way, which is one of the best songs on Nevermind. Ah well.

Even though it was hard to understand what Kurt was singing sometimes; Nirvana was a band that helped changed music's direction to grung. Nirvana struck a chord in many of the X generations lives! For that they diserve a rating of five!

I love Nirvana. I think they are one of the greatest bands in history and if they wouldn't have come along then we wouldn't have alot of great bands that we have now. Except for that gay ass puddle of mudd. If you look at the tabs for smells like teen spirit and the tabs for she hates me, they are exactly the same except played a different number of times. They ripped them off!!

OK as far as it goes but clearly people unaware of the Pixies and Husker Du should check them out to see where Cobain got many of his ideas from. Nirvana just happened to be in the right place at the right time while the real innovators, being ahead of their times, were in the wrong place and at the wrong time.

i love this band, and it saddens me that such a commercial, over-hyped compliation is released, honestly on adverts things like the band that changed the world- what a load of rubbish. It lacks alot, for instance there is only one song here from there first album bleach the love song about a girl, and crucial tracks from their career are missing, namely polly. but as for the songs that are here the new you know your right shows exactly how much was wrong with kurt, you only need to hear the grinding, churning chorus with its one word pain stated over and over. elsewhere the four Nevermind singles are a vivid reminder of the sucess of nevermind, and 'teen spirit is as exciting as ever. five of the best from In Utero show that there was far more to cobains songwriting than anyone cared to guess. the excellent pennyroyal tea and satire of rape me -these were among his best, and the gripping heart shaped box and splendour of all apologies were better even than smells like... good enough for nirvana, on reflection it is a tragedy that a songwriter with such potential is gone. a great finishing song in where did you sleep last night?

One of my favourite bands, but this is surely the most comercial rather than the best of...? Would Kurt Cobain have approved? I think not. Considering the vast array of unreleased songs available as bootlegs, the one 'new' song offered is VERY poor. IMHO the worst Nirvana song I've heard; released because it fitted in with recent trends rather than because it was a good song. Get a proper Nirvana album. Or the singles boxed set. Or a bootleg. This is a poor reflection of a great band who had FAR more depth than is shown here.

One of my favorite albums. I think that one of the best songs would have to be Smells Like Teen Spirit and I think that Kurt did an awesome job on the vocals for the song The Man Who Sold The World. If you love great music with awesome guitar solos and drum beats then buy this album!

Well, the only thing that I can really rate about this CD is You Know You're Right because it's the only new song (This CD is a compilation)... You Know You're Right is a good song but it isn't one of their bests (I will venture to say that every song on Nevermind is better.) but it is still a good song. It is also said that it is the last song Kurt recorded, and I was thrilled to hear a new Nirvana song was out. I would not buy this CD for the full price just for You Know Your Right but I would get this if it's your first Nirvana CD and you want to see how they sound. This does not contain all of their best songs but it does have many of them.
