I do have to give Kerry and his team credit for bowing out gracefully.I imagine this would not have happened had it been that wimp Gore.

Not really a big story - his concession basically ended the whole three-ring circus that had gone on for months. I do give him credit for acting in a much more mature and gentlemanly fashion than some in his camp advocated. It sure must have disappointed the lawyers. Kerry has to be given credit for at least being able to do some basic arithmetic, and to come to an obvious conclusion. His concession spared us a lot of wasted airtime agonizing over the outcome.

I give Kerry credit for this. Him not dragging out the election has certainly saved this country from much of the division we experinced in 2000.

Considering the results of the election, it doesn't really come as a surprise to me that Kerry decided against a protracted legal challenge against the official vote counts in fairly close states like Ohio. Besides the fact that Kerry knew that it would be an uphill battle regarding the voter counts in small states, he didn't want to drag the country through the dirt again like what happened in 2000. It simply wouldn't bode well on our electoral system by having the courts decide the winner of the election, not to mention our image throughout the world.

Kerry was very gracious in defeat. Though I think he would have been a horrible president, I believe he serves the interests of the liberals in his home state well. I think he's a good man and he acted like a true statesman by not dragging the country through a protracted legal mess. Unlike Edwards' Kerry was concilitory in defeat. Bush was absolutely right when he said Kerry ran a spirited campaign- Not to mention he was a very strong debater. He showed a lot of class with his concession.

i wasn't really surprised that senator kerry didn't challenge the results of the election because he more than anyone realized that the people had spoken, and he had failed to win their support. that being said, i still think it was a class act and gives us more time to unite the many divisions in the country. senator kerry's not challenging the results was a very american thing to do, and i salute him.

I think this showed good character on the Senators part and was best for our country.
