One small one, in my opinion, doesn't look bad on a man. But two makes me think of Mr. Clean.

I went to public school in the '40s and '50s and - given the fact that I bought most of my school clothes on 125th Street and wore my hair longer than any pop star - I'm sure I'd have had no problem surviving with earrings. In fact, one of my pals in HS had a Mohawk and nobody messed with him either. We nonconformists did take some flack from the authorities, but that just reinforced our determination to be in charge of our own looks.
I pierced my ears in '62, and aside from one unwanted advance from a leather queen, I've never had anyone bug me about it.
Nowadays, even though rebellion is sold at the mall, 'educators' still hassle kids for what they look like instead of paying attention to their abilities and accomplishments. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Great if you going on CBS's Pirate master.

Once again, in certain cultures it is very acceptable. I personally couldn't care less.

I went all my years to public schools and it's a mighty good thing this earring wearing crowd wasn't around in the 1940's and 1950's. They would not have survived--physically or mentally!

Looks a bit weird...

Not for me.

Unless a guy is a musician, pirate, or George Michael in a public restroom, he has no business with earrings.

Depends. I can handle one earring as long as the guy's under 25 ('cause after that he should probably reconsider), but if you're talking multiple piercings or lobe stretching; I could live without seeing much of that.

looks great all boys should have pierced ears

Cincinatti Reds owner Marge Schott once said of such jewelry on her ballplayers, "Earrings are for fruits." Now they appear to be for everyody. And it's really unfortunate. Earlobes have become just another place for inner-city males to demonstrate gross consumption rather than a reflection of the wisdom to have purchased something that might have value in the long run.

This has become widely accepted, but I don't really like it. I think men should look like men.
