. . .at least he would be a better actor and speaker in front of the camera than our present linguistically challenged leader. . .

Hahahahaha. Good one. You were kidding, right? Anyway, last time I looked, native born Aussies were ineligible for the office. UPDATE FOR FACT CORRECTION: Ridgewalker points out to me that Gibson in fact is born in Peekskill New York, which does make him eligible. It certainly doesn't make him any more viable, however.

His candidacy might begin to falter in Miami area retirement communities and large chunks of New York City ... unless, of course, his chief competition was Pat Buchanan.

As far as Mr. Gibson being American-born, I think I read somewhere that he was born in the U. S., just raised in Australia. Anyway, I think he would be an interesting candidate, just not a likely one. It certainly would keep people talking.

He can't run. Don't you have to be American-born to run for President?
ledzep44 04/25/2005
Mel Gibson is running for president and is a republican. I refuse to believe either of these.
abichara 12/08/2004
I've never heard Mel speak out on any issues outside of the cultural ones. I doubt he'll run for political office, much less President. He's said quite a few things that will come back to bite him in the heat of a campaign.

This guy is nuts. Arnold should have B-slapped him when he called expressing displeasure with Arnolds support of Stem Cells. Then he goes on TV saying he is waiting for the governor to call back. Who is he? Just another of 30 million California residents. Get over your crazy self dude.

See my rating for Denzel Washington.

Was he born an American citizen?
LanceRoxas 11/10/2004
The guy is half baked to start with. Secondly he's no republican and would be a horrible candidate.

The passion of the Mel?
