When will the GOP figure out that all Americans do not think like Oklahomans? Even people who care about football don't care about it THAT much that they would let a jock have access to nuclear codes. (Yes, that includes you, Tom Brady.) Largent didn't even do decent interviews as an NFL player, so he's definitely not articulate enough for this job.

I recall when 9/11 happened, it was about three or four days before Largent could be located. Out on a hunting trip in some remote area. That didn't go over well with me and a lot of other people.

I don't know much about Largent's politics, but he is already well known because of his work on the football field. He has served a decent amount of time in Congress, without having anything negative publicized about him. However, there hasn't been much publicized about him at all as far as I know.

I really don't know of anything significant he's done as a politician. He might be able to cruise on his football fame to a certain extent, but it takes more than that. Hello Jack Kemp, wherever you are.

He lost the governor's race and Oklahoma tends to be a Republican state. What does that tell you? It means that just beause you're in the Hall of Fame and you are a member of the majority party it means nothing in the eyes of the voters.

Since I'm from Seattle I thought this choice was funny at first instant glance then I thought, geez he really is a great person and is involved in politics occasionally on T.V. still. Then I realized that until the damn Seahawks win a freaking playoff game we are all doomed next election.

Not yet known enough. He could garner national attention but not in 2008, I would say probably 2012 or 2016.
