I'm in the minority in that I hate clumping litter. Clumping litter tends to stick on the sides of the box and is much harder to wash off especially if it contains carbon. Also, I have a dog who has been caught a few times trying to cop a snack and I worry about those chemicals in there etc clogging up his intestines. I would much rather use Cat's Pride and change the box every week then a clumping litter that you change less frequently.

This is the only cat litter I will use. I have three cats, who I swear compete for the "who can go to the bathroom the most often" award. This litter absorbs the best. I have tried the ones with the larger pebbles and the cats end up leaving litter clumps everywhere with that kind. The Cat's Pride grains are more like sand and I'm not sure why that works better for me, but it does.

Awful. It does not clump well for pee, plus the granules are so tiny, they track EVERYWHERE. And it doesn't cover up the odor very well.

I don't know what those people who disliked this product were talking about !! It's amazing- no smell, easy to scoop out, cheap, clumps incredibly fast - I would never use a clay product again, and this particular brand can be flushed down the toilet (**BUT- do check your plumbing first to be sure !) Only drawback is that it is like sand, so I put it on an inexpensive bathmat, which does the trick.A big thumbs up!

I am surprised by the low ratings of two others on this site. I bought 30 pounds of Cat's Pride at WalMart for less than $4.50 (including tax). Then I returned home to read the low reviews on this site. My own experience with Cat's Pride is good to very good. It looks very much like FreshStep. Two of my five cats produce an amazing stink in the litter box. Cat's Pride does a fairly good job in covering the odor until I sift and flush. Cat's Pride does as well as FreshStep and is much cheaper. It's perhaps slightly better in odor-control than the pine-based products (and is much cheaper than they are). Cat's Pride is much much better than PaPurr, which does not absorb liquids.

One very small kitten and it didn't seem to cover the smell well at all. She would go in the litter pan once, then on our bed! Stopped when we changed to a new brand (Arm & Hammer).
