God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen 3

Not one of my personal favorites, but it's a classic.

God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen 5

I came on here with the intention of posting that little tidbit, but irish beat me to it. Oh, well. This carol is reminiscent of the first poliphony used in the renaissance. Very somber and beautiful.

God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen 5

Actually, the comma goes after Merry. The phrase God rest ye merry was a common greeting in Restoration England, and the song dates from that era. One of my favourites.
