Due to his childhood in America, Daniel knew very little Korean before he did "Lost". He has said that his co-star on that show Yoon-jin Kim, who is fluent in both English and Korean, has been invaluable in coaching him on his Korean, which has apparently improved. It's kind of ironic since Daniel Dae Kim's character is only fluent in Korean.

Update(6/01/08)-Decent actor but his worst career move was his DUI arrest.Former cast members Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were arrested on suspicion drunken driving in 2005 and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was arrested and accused of disobeying a police officer and driving without a license. Its not a coincidence that all three stars were kicked off LOST Island. Its a shame that Daniel Dae Kim was dumb enough to join them.

For someone who never speaks English (or so we previously thought), Daniel Dae Kim (Jin) does a good job with his character. He played a spirited domineering man (over his wife) who was not liked by many. This has now changed and he is turning out to be a good guy. (Now is he dead????)

At first I thought he was worthless, but Jin grew on me. It is so fascinating to watch him interacting with all the others since he does understand a word that they are saying. I never really understood between him and Michael though. But that is probably cause I hated Michaels character.
