I enjoy Listening to Vic Stauffers race calls, he is one of the best!

This dork is the WORST to ever call a race. Hollywood Park can't find someone a bit better than this idiot?

love his excitement. he forgets names alot, but makes up for it in big races

Ugh. The only thing this guy appears to know about racing is that its hard to do.

The sobriquet "Goof on the Roof" is kind.

This guy is the worst announcer in the history of horse racing. I can't undertstand why so many of you are bamboozled by this pompous fool.

Stauffer is good at anticipating moves on the track and pointing them out for the fans. He has a great voice and does what he is supposed to do, he tells you what is happening on the track. His funniest line one day at Kansas City was after a long delay when the gate broke down and they brought in a back-up gate..."The starting gate is nearing the horses."

I must admit Vic has a style all of his own. I understand he is also known as the Goof On The Roof. Perhaps this is a bit harsh. I recall he once described an exciting finish as a "Three Way Wacker" whatever that is supposed to mean.

One of my favorite announcers. Bings personality to horse racing industry. Easy going call until final 1/16th. Hope he stays at Hollywood Park

Very colorful calls, and he seems genuinely excited about the race he is calling. It is Gulfstream s loss now that they don't want him anymore. He idolized the late Harry Henson who was Hollywood Park's legendary race-caller during the Golden Age of California racing. Stauffer's calls are unique, and colorful and he does a great job at Hollywood Park, and also several of the short meets at some California County Faor tracks.

Vic is very good race caller from Land of Flowers and Lakes, or is it Lakes and Flowers. I miss his work at GP.

I like Vic a lot! We were both jock agents at the same time in N. Cal (1997), and Vic called the race of my first win as an owner (1998, Pleasanton). Greatly improved track announcer.

I think Vic improved mightily at Hollywood this season. I like him better when he's calling it matter-of-factly instead of getting excited, as he seems to do at Sonoma. He's got an ego, but nothing wrong with that.

This guy couldn't tell a story with a horse race even if he was reading it from cue cards. Only Magna's penury keeps him employed.

deserves a much higher rating.. a good caller and a heck of a nice guy

I'm starting to lean towards giving him a 3, but he is obnoxious.
