Love his photo calls. Monotone

Ed calls a clean race. Talks a bit too much during 4-furlong action, probably because AQHA racing is "talk or die," in 13 seconds. Fine voice, a man's voice, not adjusted from conversation to calling. Genuine and smart. Really love his thoughts when he talks to TVG viewers--he knows more than we do!

How he can call races he bets without urging his choices is remarkable. If you really listen, a bit of extra comes through on some finishes. Funny stuff!

Los Al's bull ring is a two-bit hustle compared to the day time California options, but TVG's decision to feature programming around "the Quarters" has given the sicko punter a chance to know Ed (and Les) while learning Quarter Horse racing as another tool in trade. Use the horses Ed & Les feature on their pick-4 tickets in regular gadet bets.

Besides doing a great job accurately deciphering all the photos that quarter horse races invariably produce, Ed is an excellent handicapper.

Been listening to Ed call races for 20 years. I never get tired of his calls. Gets excited when the situation calls for it. Nothing forced, a true pro. Surprisingly good on the 4 1/2 F races. He's not just a  quarterhorse caller. Where would Los Al be without him?

The most underrated race caller in racing. Decisive accurate calls of quarter horse races, and he can anticipate a closing charge in a race of just 350 yards, and call even the closest of photo finishes with pinpoint accuracy.

Too monotonous on the T-breds, but is the best Qtr caller there is - especially at calling the photo.

I give him high marks for his quarterhorse calls.. incredible at the photos.. but I do remember him as a thoroughbred announcer.. kinda said alot of the same things in describing events during a race.. but overall... still like him

I must agree with Rockport. I am constantly blown away by how the guy can call the wire with a five horse photo on the line....
