A wanna-be announcer. Not much there.

Tony Calo is fantastic! Whitty, knowledgeable and so cleaver with words. He is the best announcer in horse racing, period! The clueless management at Bay Meadows have no idea that "Tony Calo" is what made a dull card exciting. He's too bright and smart for that failing race circut. The guy knows horses, has an amazing memory, and most importantly, he loves the game and the people. That's a winning combination...
All the best Tony Calo! We miss you....happy to know you are making bigger money and drawing the crowds in with your super talent!

Very happy HE is gone - - - from the start of the race with his garbeled "AND THERE THEY GO" to his call of the race. He is one announcer that thinks the racing fans come to listen to him and his numerous "ANOTHER WINNER FOR RUSSEL". The quality of horse racing in the Bay Area is bad enough without having to listen to Calo.

Got screwed by Magna when replaced by Wrona.. well wrona was screwed by Lone Star (Magna)...Tony needs to goto a circuit with larger fields and I bet then he won't have to do his schtick and will show his talent

When i hear mr calo's excitment, it makes me want to go to the races. i can close my eyes and know exactly what is happening on the track because the announcer is so wonderful!

Very descriptive. Note the extra analysis of a horse's condition or situation that he will do midway through a race on many occaisons. Good energy and sometimes VERY funny.

If he got rid of the catch phrase and settled a tad he could be awesome... In saying that I still like the guy a lot...

If you look beyond the schtick you'll see he's a great announcer toiling on the underwhelming NO.CAL circuit.

Obnoxious. And there they go! in such a strange way he says that. He is a guy pretending to be a track announcer it seems.
