Elisabeth H. doesn't bother me at all. I think she holds her own in that show. She's never fake and I respect that about her.

Mrs. Elisabeth Hasselback is a disgrace to television. In a hot issue, she is always wrong. She believes that a woman should forfeit her rights to her own body and that the "next day pill" should be illegal due to her "belief" that life starts the minute sperm enters the body of a woman. Please. It may be her prerogative to have three babies, but not everyone can afford or would like that. She is someone who inadvertently (through stupidity) leads to more usurping of my rights as an individual and I hate her for that. In every debate she looks to justify the war in Iraq and waterboarding, seeing no principles whatsoever in anything but her own morally bankrupt ideas that were directly taken from another news source with out any applied thinking. She looks at every idea differently, as any loyal pragmatist would, and is utterly incapable of seeing any principle in anything whatsoever - even if her life depended on it. For example, she just debated Jesse Ventura, a principled man, and argued that we extracted worthy information through waterboarding from one person. She does not recognize the fact that torture under world law is illegal and that we cannot say we abide by a law and then break that law. We cannot have a government subversively breaking laws - see the mess we are in with the Iraq war and economic system. She watches too much CNN and is worse than a parakeet with an uncontrollable gag reflex. The View needs to keep this simple minded bimbo off the show as it looks like she is slowly degrading the intelligence of every other host by mere opening of her open fixed mouth.
It does not appear that she actually thinks about anything before she says it. The anti thought mangled garbage that comes out of her mouth makes me thankful for my cognitive powers that clearly some people don't have or worse, don't use. Read some non fiction Ayn Rand and learn to think, please! It is extremely clear that her brain or lack of is not what got her on TV.

She's the worst. Just the worst. How she has the job she has is incomprehensible to me. Everything about her drives me nuts. I stopped watching the show because of her. I could care less about her political views, she just comes across as such a nasty human being and just SOOOOOO self-absorbed. She also seems super competitive - which is irritating. Nothing is wrong with competition - it's just that she comes across as a sore loser. With the way the economy is going, etc., nobody wants to tune in to see a self-absorbed, sore-loser. She comes across as such an angry person that she can't even see how fortunate she is. People like that drive me nuts!

As a former republican (Obama changed that for me, and George Bush) I can understand and empathize with the religious right-republican view of the world. I don't think this girl (does she strike anyone as a woman?) represents good, honest republicans in any way.

She doesn't seem to care about others who are less fortunate, I feel because being handed good looks and I am guessing wealthy paarents, (if she hadn't been she would be a bit more tolerant) she feels that everyone has had the easy life she has. She can't understand what it feels like to be black, gay, fat, ugly or anything besides *petite blonde middle-class cheerleader* in this country that worships exactly what she is.

I do understand why she would have this VIEWpoint. I do think it would broaden her horizon to wear a fat suit or black face for about a week, or be dropped in the getto wearing a fat suit and black face and be forced to go wait at the foodstamp office for an appointment, then stand in line at the grocery store and have someone shake their head at your pulling out those foodstamps or that card to pay for your food. Let her understand what it feels like for people who don't look like and haven't had the advantages she has had. She's young and pretty. The world's her oyster. Isn't that way for everyone? Please Barbara, it would be nice to see a Republican with some life experience and credibility.

Her voice is just so irritating and she speaks so fast that even if she did say something someone wanted to hear, you would be put off by that. I can't believe she got upset that she was called a Dumb Broad, by that Wright guy (dont like him either), after all the bad things she says daily about just about everyone. I only watch the show for Whoopi, but I wish they would let Elisabeth go and replace her with a more rational conservative person

It isn't her political views that are annoying. Honestly it is HER that is almost unbearable.. It doesn't matter what the topic most things that come out of her mouth is pure ignorance and arrogance. Last week she spoke of Depak Chopra and referred to him as "glitter glasses what's his face" and said that he needs to go burn a bowl of insence. Yes she apologized the next day but it was LAME! Not that Elisabeth ever could be enlightened because her head is too far up her own ass but referring to someone like Depak as she did just proves her ignorance and disrespect for people. I can't wait for the day the view gets rid of her.

I like elizabeth hasselbeck, and I'm a democrat. You know who's narrow minded? all the people in America who refuse to accept that there IS another way political party and they're not all evil and ignorant. The republican viewpoint has setbacks, obviously, but it also embodies many POSITIVE values. A BALANCE between the liberal and conservative views is what keeps out country centered and lately, any celebrity who's a republican is totally bashed. Elisabeth Hasselbeck completely embodies the typical Republican mindset of this election. Look at the comments section of any news site, local or national, and you'll see postings that sound as though she could have written them. There's the YELLING IN ALL CAPS, the hurling of ridiculous untruths, the intolerance of others' beliefs or any attempt to have a reasonable discussion. UPDATE:  Rumours swirl about of her intention to resign from the View in frustration at being the sole conservative voice among the liberal majority.  I think the obvious career move that she is planning has been completyely overlooked, she's preparing to run for the office of Governor of Alaska.

ORIGINAL: She is a case study in career planning for students majoring in communications - sit still in the makeup chair and don't move around too much when on camera.  Ennunciate when reading the teleprompter and smile but not too much.  Have your demo reel ready and when you get some good national exposure, get it in the mail to every media outlet - PRONTO!  It should take more than that to make it as a broadcaster, but we're not exactly living in the golden age of substance over style. 

  I never watched the view, as far as I can tell it is typically a platform for has-beens like the slut Barbara Walters who easily admits to knowingly having an affair with a married man (oh, let's not just dig the knife into the wife's back, little miss feminist)... and who the hell was Star Jones before, during or after the show?

I could care less about Whoopi who talks about there being in a different world- she's one to talk, if it wasn't for the world of America that gave her an opportunity to suceed she may well be washing Obama's brother's undies in that hut of his in Kenya.

It's totally emblematic of mainstream media and entertainment that some talentless, moronic pinhead who was a contestant on one of those inane and ridiculous reality TV shows can then be offered a contract to appear on a daily talk show, beating out hundreds of applicants, most of whom, I imagine, had at least two brain cells.  That's one more than this dimwit apparently has.  She isn't bad-looking, in a greasy, plastic, cheezy sort of way, but the instant she opens her mouth, it's Dramamine time for anyone unfortunate enough to be tuning in.  She's really, really, really cosmic stupid and ill-informed, poisoned by jackass rightwing ideology, immature and shrill.  But, then again, consider the program she's on.  Ironically enough, she might be a perfect fit for that daily exercise in menstrual flow.  And really, does anyone actually watch "The View?"  That show goes on at 9:00 or 10:00 a.m., depending on the market.  Shouldn't most people be in work at that time?  Oh yeah, I forgot.  In this country it seems we have more people sitting around on their lardasses and merely consuming and taking up space than those doing anything positive and productive.

Our Canadian federal election was held on October 14, 2008.  I did not vote Liberal. I voted Conservative.  So, in answer to your question/statement I do not align myself with Liberal ideology.  Everyone around the table has made some questionable statements; however, from an outsider looking in...Elisabeth stands out with her unwillingness to see another point of view.  I'm not saying she has to agree with that point of view, but Communications 101 talk me the most important part of a conversation is the ability to listen.

As of 10/1, I stopped watching/listening to The View because of Hasselbeck; have sent several e-mails to The View and hope others follow suit.  Everyone on the panel is paid a nice sum, however, going to work every day where EH is allowed to over-talk, ad nauseum:  Whoopi, Joy, and Barbara really earn their pay; Sheri S. is annoying, but at least not as much as EH, who surpasses stupidity.
