(numbah lets out a primal scream) UPDATE: Funny thing is his scream is identical to that of local DJ Eric O'Connell of 98 KUPD here in Phoenix when they shocked "Payday Stuntman" with a stun gun...

Underrated. . .got a raw deal from the imaginary 'liberal media' for sounding like a goofball despite the linguistic warfare the present administration has declared on the English language. . .Dean has a good record, tells it like it is, and is far too smart and blunt for oh-so-tough Americans who want their fairy-tales to sound a little nicer while being rocked to sleep. . .

Doesn't know how to move from e-votes to real votes. Hopefully his record of success as party chair will prevent him from being tempted again.
JohnSpina 05/16/2006
No chance in hell.Again,he was actually a pretty good governor.Just too erratic.
37102002 01/26/2006
Howard is just too out there.
Drummond 01/10/2006
No, they have him pegged now. Much better in his current position, breaking fundraising records and pushing a 50 state strategy.
Dante614 12/05/2005
Howard -stay at home.We Democrats want to win!
JGlendenning 12/03/2005
He won't run, he really can't run. His term won't be up until after then.
James76255 09/23/2005
His chances would be slim anyway, but since he is DNC chairman, I don't see him running. His role with the party right now is being the attack dog: Say what the candidates aren't going to be able to say.
Donovan 07/14/2005
An embarrassment to the Democratic Party.
PlanetaryGear 07/09/2005
Of all the manchurians on this list, this is my guy. I know he's abrasive, and batty as all hell, but hey, being a dissenter in this day and age is enough to make anyone a little looney.
GenghisTheHun 07/09/2005
Earth to Howard! Earth to Howard! Come in please!

Blew his chance to be the nominee in 2004, has no chance with Hillary, Bayh, and Richardson in the race. One of the few Democrats that will not be shown in a positive light by the media. Just look how he is being covered as the DNC chairman. Plus he was Governor of Vermont, population 500,000. San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego are just a few cities with larger populations.
nathew 06/07/2005
i certainly do not see him running, but he would make an excellent president and hopefully a decent candidate if he could shake off the whole crazy man thing the not-so-liberal media tacked on him.
IndependentEle ctor 04/13/2005
Excellent party chair, confused candidate. I can think of at least a half dozen better Democratic nominees. He needs to stick with his NEW day job.
drwoowoocl 04/13/2005
HE HAD HIS CHANCE.......
drbowler 02/28/2005
Yeah run Dean any Republican could kick your butt. Even Nader.(Green) P.S. The scream was funny.
kipprabbit 02/22/2005
his far left ideas couldnt get him the nomination in 2004, he certainly wont get it in 2008
Anonymous 02/13/2005
I'm rating him in terms of likeliness of running. Since he was elected the Democratic National Committee Chairman yesterday and he announced he was not running in '08, I highly doubt he will.
Jar-Jar Binks 02/01/2005
He'd definitely save this country from a budget crisis if he won. We need someone as passionate as him.
abichara 12/05/2004
Howard Dean made some good points in the 2004 campaign. He had a message that was energizing and timely. In many respects he's highly electable, in many others he is not. His ideas were very interesting, much more moderate than the mainstream press made him out to be, especially on fiscal issues. What made him a liberal in 2004 was his opposition to the Iraq War. On soclal issues like health care and gay civil unions, he was liberal, but on gun control he was very conservative. As a candidate, Dean electrified audiences, but he didn't turn that over to popular support. He seemed somewhat thinned-skinned as well. I don't see him getting much support in the South, although at least he would try unlike Kerry. I don't see him running again--the way he self-destructed in 2004 was too damaging.
irishgit 12/04/2004
If he did he would become the 21st century version of Harold Stassen (Democratic edition)
jgls 11/20/2004
as a registered republican i would be giddy if he were the democratic nominee in 2008. he has as good a shot as anyone at the nomination because he appears to have a solid base within the party, and his views are considered mainstream within the party. unfortunately for democrats, if the republicans ran a monkey against him in the general election, governor dean would lose in a landslide of mcgovernlike proportion. although governor dean may be mainstream within his own party, he would be an unacceptable candidate in most of the red states.
donkeyguy 11/19/2004
Will be busy as chair of DNC.
jamestkirk 11/15/2004
He's going to run in 2008 and has probably already begun the groundwork for his campaign. I give him credit for being sincere in his political beliefs and sticking to them. Like Bush, what you see and hear with Dean is what you get. To a degree, this is good for the Democrtaic party. Problem for Dean, like Hillary, is that he will never win a general election. No way does he win a red state from the South, Midwest, and Rocky Mountain areas. Not a chance.
texas4cash 11/12/2004
Dr. Howard Dean came across early in the primaries as very hostile and angry. Americans will not forget that in the 2007/2008 primary season, especially when media has been hounding this man for months. Plus Dr. Dean is as far left as John Ashcroft is right. He would leave out independents and moderates. I've said it several times, the DEMS have to leave alone northeastern liberals. They need to nominate a white or black man or woman from the south or mid-west. Evan Bayh or Barak Obama would be my choice if I were a democrat.
