Anybody who thinks this is a serious possibility should put their crack pipe down.

Not this time around, but she will one day be a great candidate---maybe in 2012.

Little known fact by the far right, there are two kinds of liberals There are the East Coast/Great lakes liberal (which like me tends to be much more moderate) and then there is the West Coast liberal. The West Coast liberal, is the liberal that conservatives hate and judge all liberals on, because they are VERY extreme and VERY far to the left. I don't think she would win the more moderatly blue states like PA, IL, NJ, the New England states, or even much of NY......... Yes james you are right, there are more than one type of conservative too. We are a sociaty that stereotypes, people from all points of view on all things have stereotypes of others, but I figure that most people already know that stereotyping is a very broad thing. And I would never acuse all conservatives of being racist, look at Powell and Rice.

I would sooner re-elect Jimmy Carter. Yes, Liberals are often stereotyped as the kind of Liberal Pelosi is, and I don't think it was anything to do with what part of the country they are from. However, a little known fact for the left, there is also more than one kind of Conservative. Not all Conservatives are hardcore when it comes to religion, and we're certainly not all racists (as if some Liberals aren't). There is the religious right, there is also the fiscal Conservative, and the common sense right, or the South Park Conservative if you will. Stereotyping goes both ways.

I think Michael Jackson would have a better chance.

She does not have the appeal to be elected, except outside of San Francisco. No way, No how!
nathew 06/07/2005
weak and ineffectual. congressmen or women can't win, anyway. i think the last congressman to be president was ford, and the only people who voted for him were people who lived in his district in west michigan.
stolypin 06/06/2005
This woman;s Congressional district is the out-of-the-mainstream district in the entire country, statistically speaking. Fewer of her constituants (sp?) own their own homes, are married, or have children than any district in the country. She might as well be from Europe.

Too liberal and too polarizing for the general electorate. She's the minority leader of the House of Representatives, so she starts out with a natural base of support, but the Republicans will tar and feather her as a San Francisco liberal. Pelosi simply doesn't have a broad enough appeal.
donkeyguy 11/19/2004
No. Will not run. Can't win. Too latte for gen election. Great Congresswoman and minority leader!
jamestkirk 11/15/2004
She won't run, and she's too liberal to stand a chance in a general election.

Zero chance, nobody in the US wants this. And, TBone, they have not learned a thing. The process in 2008 will unfold much like it did in 2004. It has already begun.
texas4cash 11/12/2004
Californian. She will have a hard time winning midwestern states and especially southern states. The DEMS need a southern/midwestern candidate. However, if she were to get plenty of media coverage during the primaries she could become a viable VP candidate, maybe and Edwards/Pelosi or Obama/Pelosi ticket.
