ORIGINAL COMMENT: Great weapon with excellent stopping power. If you grip it too hard, you can't hit squat with it. Let it hang more loosely in your hand and bingo! At least that's worked for me and I've shot it hundreds of times.

Great design and fires one of the more deadly projectiles commonly available for a handgun. Accurate enough at close range.

The 1911 has secured its rep as one of the greatest pistols ever through its stopping power. It can lay people out without too much trouble even with hardball ammo.
