You have never seen a Harvard or Oxford Law School grad. governor that I appreciate, to win the president, not a Yale grad. Too bad for me he is a Democrat. How good if he is a Republican? Mostly, I don't appreciate a Yale grad. like President Gerald Ford, President George Bush Sr., Senator John Kerry and former Governor and DNC Chairman Howard Dean. Although Bill Clinton got a M.A. of Law from Oxford, but I still don't like some of his brain-dead stagnant thinking from his knowledge from Ph.D. from Law of Yale. In Virginia the red state, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine are the two of the few Harvard Law School-grad. Democrat who can win the governor and senator. Mark Warner is going to be Democrat's Rudy Giuliani, isn't it. That's a very good comparison. Unlike John McCain as Republican's Joe Lieberman, Rudy Giuliani is a former crazy liberal centrist Republican New York Mayor in a deep-blue state but always a worst enemy and nightmare against Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, John Edwards, Edward Kennedy, etc. and the loyal supporter of President Bush and other conservative Republicans. And, in contrast, unlike Zell Miller as Democrat's Lincoln Chafee, Mark Warner is a clean common-sense conservative centrist former governor of Virginia a common who is a generous and friendly supporter for all liberal Democrats. Rudy Giuliani cannot be easy to be nominated as a Republican presidential nominee because of his liberal records but very necessary and important for Republicans to bring America into a conservative country, and remove Kim Jung-Il from North Korea physically, and eliminate Islamic fascism successfully after President Bush's low-job-approval 2nd term that will be forgotten by people after his 8-year term, and Mark Warner is not easy to be nominated as a Democrat presidential nominee because he is too conservative, but very necessary and important for Democrats to bring America into a liberal country when Hillary Clinton and Al Gore are going to lose to Rudy Giuliani and John McCain. Rudy Giuliani is an only Republican who can win some more blue states and Mark Warner is an only Democrat who can win some more red states. Recently, Rudy Giuliani is flip-flopped into a long-time conservative to get nominated as a Republican presidential nominee to best John McCain. And we predict that Rudy Giuliani is going to win the president in 2008 and 2012. And Mark Warner is attractive and a Hardvard Law School-grad., but he probably still cannot beat Rudy Giuliani in 2008 and 2012. But he will probably win U.S. Senator Virginia in 2008 and 2014 until he runs for the president in 2016 until two months before Rudy Giuliani's 8-year presidential term finished. Bill Clinton had spoken said if Democrat made one more mistake, it will have to be changed to be Christianistic (more conservative) to appeal. Mark Warner's conservative moderacy will be used if Democrats made some more mistakes. Mark Warner is supporting liberal candidates while is a conservative moderate. Why doesn't he learn to be Henry "Scoop" Jackson, the former 30-year Democrat U.S. Senator Washington.

Electable, moderate, southerner. He did great things for his state. My only concern is his inexperince on foreign policy. Hey, Wes Clark can be Vice President if this guy's nominated for the Presidency in 2008.

I know he is from a southern red state and can maybe get bi partisan support, but the few interviews I have heard with him, he just doesnt impress me.Still a political novice. Would be good as a vice presidential candidate.

No doubt he would be tough to beat. But he's too conservative. If we nominate him there won't be a Democratic party. At leats not until he's out of office. I don't want that to happen. Fortunately, I doubt he'll be nominated because of his huge conservatism.

I would agree with others that he is a darkhorse candidate. Rings a bit like Bill Clinton, in the sense that he is a governor that is well liked in his own state, but not known nationally. It might depend on what the far left wing of the party does. Warner could also be a 2008 version of Howard Dean, and get railroaded out of the way with a push for the more liberal candidate. The fact that he is more of a fiscal conservative could appeal to a lot of voters outside the Democratic Party. If they are smart, they will give him a closer look.

A potential darkhorse candidate. Warner certainly has some of the credentials needed to win a race for the Democrats. He's a moderate, fiscal conservative with some liberal social views, but not too liberal. The Republicans might tag him as a tax hiker, but the economy has been stedily growing in his state during his tenure. He's generally regarded as fiscally responsible, cutting back spending in his state and streamlining operations. Generally, Warner is fairly effective governor whose Southern roots might be helpful to Dems. However, he's sort of an unknown quantity outside of Virginia and his views on foreign policy are a question mark. His business-like traits will be the most helpful to him in a primary.

I think that he is a sleeper candidate if the top rank fails.

like richardson, sounds like more of a ticket-balancing VP candidate.

The sleeper candidate who has southern charm and knows how to make and raise money. Don't rule this guy out - he's by far the most appealing moderate democrat in the field. Virginia is for lovers and it could play big in the 2008 election if Senator George Allen enters the fray on the republican side.

Virgina Gov. Mark Warner would make an interesting candidate. He's very popular in his home state (a red state), largely due to his moderate views on social issues like gay marriage, abortion and gun control. He has the political skills to bring southern states like Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina into play in 2008. Two of those states have Democratic governors (Warner and Easely of North Carolina) who have achieved political success by realizing the importance of social and moral issues to voters. His views on social issues wouldn't help him in the primaries, but nationally is a different story entirely. If he were to win the nomination, any ability to appeal to mainstream voters would be canceled out by perceptions of him as a tax and spend liberal. Just three weeks after signing off on the largest tax increase in Virginia history, Governor Warner released late budget figures that revealed a $300 million+ surplus. A $300 million surplus is hardly a fiscal crisis as Warner described it and did not warrant a tax increase. This could hurt his chances in any future political ambitions, as he is barred from running for another term as Governor this year. The best bet for Warner in 2008 is to be on the ticket as VP, where he can avoid the heat of his tax and spend record and focus more on appealing to social moderates. Hopefully he'll be more effective and helpful in the south than Edwards was this time around- or at least win his home state.

From the electable wing of the Democratic party, in other words, he'd never make it out of the primaries. His been an acceptable governor of my home state, Virginia.
